Is Top Chef Masters jumping the culinary shark? Last week, the contestants were reduced to cooking in a fast food restaurant. And then last night's elimination challenge had them preparing dinner in a moving tour bus (more like an Rv) in honor of celebrity guest judges Maroon 5. Whatever happened to watching these world-reknown chefs making five-star meals? Does last night's booted chef agree that producers may have gone too far? Read on to find out. Alex Stratta isn't surprised he was told to pack his knives. The Las Vegas-based chef admits it wasn't his finest moment. First, I have to ask, are you a fan of Maroon 5's music? Yes. Very much so. It was very cool...

Warning: Don't watch this while you're eating.
On 'Top Chef Masters' (Wed., 10Pm Et on Bravo), the Quickfire challenge required contestants to create gourmet dishes with crickets, scorpions, nightcrawlers, hornworms and other (not so) delectable bugs.
"I'm grossed out," admitted George Mendes. "I'm fully aware that these insects have a lot of nutrients, vitamins. But if there's a bug that turns up in my apartment, I kill it." He went on to make coconut milk and hornworm soup. "Bleh."
Alex Stratta had a different take: "These are bugs that have been eaten in cultures as long as we've been eating chicken."

I mean, you’re not going to get a Marcel on “Top Chef Masters” simply because a weasel like Marcel is never going to get that far in life. Or at least that’s what I have to hope. Anyway, let’s take a look at our masters: John Currence, City Grocery Restaurant Group Suvir Saran, Dévi John Rivera Sedlar, Playa Alex Stratta, Stratta Mary Sue...
