Actor Sarah Paulson was psychic medium Tyler Henry’s first celebrity client and it completely wasn’t lost on him that she also played a medium in American Horror Story.
Paulson played medium Billie Dean Howard in AHS Season 1, a Craigslist psychic whose backstory is explored in another season of the series.
The AHS fandom has theories about Billie Dean, but Henry was fixated on how camp it was that she was his first celebrity client who also played a psychic.
Tyler Henry loved the psychic medium connection with Sarah Paulson
“It was so camp, which I could really appreciate. Like all mediums by default are a little campy but that was so special for me,” Henry said on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast about Paulson playing a psychic on AHS.

This was the best installment of the season yet.
American Horror Story Season 6 Episode 3 was a great, suspenseful hour of the series. It also managed to introduce a delightful new character – betting Cricket will go down in Ahs history as a fan favorite – and clarified a huge amount of backstory regarding the "principal" ghost, the Butcher.
One criticism to address right off the bat: "Chapter 3" was a major info dump. Like, it was so noticeably obvious that a character just went ahead and called it as it was.
The spirits downloaded to me like a paranormal zip drive.

Zip file, indeed.
Cricket was literally traipsing through the woods when the ghosts took it upon themselves to telepathically transpose the 411 about their history, motives, and plans? Uh-huh. Right. Gotcha.

American Horror Story has been a spectacular showcase for female characters and the actors playing those roles. Jessica Lange was a revelation. Lily Rabe stole season two. Season three was an ensemble of female characters. Season four's most affecting parts were concerning the women of the Freak Show. And this season, the female character that deserves the most attention and praise just happens to be played by a man. There's glamour and grandeur, acid wit and tender compassion... The amazing Sarah Paulson is one of the few recurring actors to appear in all four seasons of American Horror Story. In Freak Show, the show’s fourth season currently airing Wednesdays on FX, Paulson has let creator Ryan Murphy push her to new limits with her role as conjoined twins, Bette and Dot Tattler.
The role has not only required a physical transformation involving a fake head (“When I have that animatronic head on, I can't even bend down to put my socks on”), but it also commands extra emotional depth to give both sisters distinct personalities.

Now that Miss Robichaux’s Academy is closed for business after a season which played out like the bastard offspring of Dennis Wheatley and Jacqueline Susann, American Horror Story fanatics are already filled with a giddy sense of anticipation at what demented devilry the show’s creators will serve up when the fourth season rolls around in the fall.
The kind of creative risks and innovative storytelling displayed in American Horror Story might well have proven the kiss of death for a show in less capable hands. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk cunningly side-stepped this by utilizing an anything-goes format and taking a familiar core concept (i.e. haunted house, institution, witches coven) in a refreshingly bold direction where nothing is outside the realm of possibility (and in many instances: of plausibility) and absolutely nothing is sacred.
So it begs the question: where will they go next? We know that...

Halloween will arrive early yet again for the millions of sickos who found themselves trapped like a bug in a jar by FX's unexpectedly awesome spookshow American Horror Story. This year the show will feature an all-new setting, a new time period and a new theme, though many of the first season's players (including Emmy-nabbing firebrand Jessica Lange) will return in very different roles and capacities.
Love it or hate it, it's hard to argue that Season 1 of Ryan Murphy's valentine to the dark side wasn't one of the most exciting and out-of-the-box experiments to hit the small screen since Agent Dale Cooper ordered his first slice of cherry pie in Twin Peaks. But this year the show faces a real challenge: starting from scratch. One of Season 1's most gonzo twists was that the show is actually an anthology (meaning that each season is an entirely new show,...

Julianne Moore's Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie Emmy nomination for playing Sarah Palin in Game Change is not only assured, but her win is basically a given. The same goes for Woody Harrelson's tour-de-force performance as campaign manager Steve Schmidt. But the miniseries/movie category would be severely lacking without the inclusion of Sarah Paulson in the Supporting Actress category since her subtle, yet powerful, portrayal of Nicolle Wallace gives the audience someone to align with.
As the campaign's communications chief, it's Wallace who first identities Palin's shortcomings, becoming the Governor's confidant and punching bag while the emotional undercurrent Paulson imbues every scene with manages to make the audience feel empathy for this controversial character. Prepare for an epic battle of ferocious girl power-ness when Chloe Sevigny faces off against “American Horror Story” alum Jessica Lange on the second season of FX's horror anthology series.
The actress is set to join the show playing “Shelly the Nymphomaniac,” which EW.com describes as “one of the mortal enemies of Jessica Lange’s character.” So. Freaking. Awesome. The site also reports that the writers wrote the part especially for Chloe. Even. Better.
Presumably Shelly would be one of the characters living in the mental institution that Lange’s character runs. While season one was all about all the morbid fun in the sun on the West Coast, season two will travel across the country to the East Coast. That should certainly add a new element to the total creepiness of the show.
According to show creator Ryan Murphy, that locale was teased by Sarah Paulson's medium character in the first season.

First, let’s recap what we have learned so far about Season 2 of American Horror Story. It will take place on the east coast instead of the west, with some actors from Season 1 returning to the show but as new and entirely opposite characters from what they played before.
Confirmed to return are of course the amazing Jessica Lange (Season 1′s Constance), Zachary Quinto (previous homeowner Chad), Evan Peters (mass murderer Tate), Sarah Paulson (psychic Billie Dean), and Lily Rabe (original owner Nora).
Now for the latest tidbits, fresh from a TV Academy panel earlier this week. Lange would go on to win a Golden Globe for her performance as the politically incorrect nosy neighbor Constance. Murphy also dropped seeds that the setting would relocate to the East Coast, a place hinted at in the Season 1′s penultimate episode, “Birth.” Murphy spoke Wednesday at a panel in North Hollywood at the TV Academy, promoting Ahs and revealed more concrete details.

Speaking at a TV Academy panel Wednesday (April 19), Murphy confirmed that the second season in the series will, in fact, take place at a mental institution on the East Coast, as had been rumored. That institution will be run by season-one fan favorite Jessica Lange, who will return as a spankin'-new character. According to Murphy, that locale was teased by Sarah Paulson's medium character in the first season.
"Something that Sarah Paulson's character, Billie Dean, says to Jessica and Taisa as she's sage-ing the house [during the 'Birth' episode] and talking about places where evil collects:...

Along with them comes Brocheré and Maroon 5 frontman and "Voice" coach Adam Levine, who will also appear in an arc as one half of a couple referred to as “The Lovers.”

Season 2 of American Horror Story is going to have a French accent.
After an exhaustive search that spanned multiple continents, French actress Lizzie Brocheré has won the pivotal new series regular role on the FX thriller, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Last month, Ahs producers put out a casting call for a femme fatale named Gia. Described as a fierce, ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot, the character — billed as a nemesis for Jessica Lange — was likened to Angelina Jolie in Girl, Interrupted.

American Horror Story: Our Wish List For The DVD/Blu-Ray Sets
FX's American Horror Story has had a pretty good year so far with a Golden Globe win for Jessica Lange, who (rightfully) received the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama. Plus Ms. Lange will be one of the cast members returning to American Horror Story's second season, which will also feature Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, and Evan Peters; all of which will be portraying different characters next year. But while things are looking pretty good for the breakout FX drama, there is one thing (other than next season's top-secret plot) the fans are still in the dark about. And that, my friends, is the release date of American Horror Story: Season 1 on Blu-ray and DVD.

Jessica Lange and Zachary Quinto aren't the only cast members returning for the next season of American Horror Story. Ryan Murphy announced at the show's Paley Center panel this weekend that Evan Peters (Tate), Sarah Paulson (Billie Dean), and Lily Rabe (Nora) will also be back, no doubt to terrify and amaze us with their blondness. [Cue funhouse music.] Ryan Murphy didn't reveal the specific story for the second season — which will have a whole new plot and setting and new characters — but he said the show would follow one specific guideline: "Our only rule on the show is no werewolves and no vampires."...

I'm particularly excited about season 2 of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's 'American Horror Story'. It was a refreshing horror show that managed to throw twists and turns at you every week and more importantly kept you interested. As previously announced Jessica Lange will be re-joining the cast for the second season and all returning players are set to play new characters as the action and an entirely different storyline shifts to an East Coast institution. And now 'Star Trek' and 'Heroes' star Zachary Quinto is also due to return to the new series to play a nemesis to Lange's new character. In addition co-creators Murphy and Falchuk appeared this weekend at PaleyFest and announced that actors Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe would also be returning for the new series due this October. Paulson, Peters and Rabe portrayed Billie Dean, Tate Langdon and Nora respectively but no word currently on their new roles.

Zachary Quinto, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe return in American Horror Story Season 2. Zachary Quinto and Jessica Lange will play their same characters while Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Lily Rabe will play new characters on the second season of American Horror Story. These are not the only changes to occur next season. Season 2 of American Horror Story will
shift from the creepy Los Angeles haunted mansion to an East Coast “horror institution,” with SAG and Golden Globe award winner Jessica Lange (who co-starred as the all-knowing nosy next door neighbor Constance) and Zachary Quinto (who recurred as a ghost trapped in the house) previously confirmed to return.

Jessica Lange and Zachary Quinto are not the only American Horror Story alums who will return for season two of this FX drama.
At last night's PaleyFest12 panel, producer Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk confirmed the following actors/actresses will play some role on their hit series this fall:
Evan Peters (Tate). Sarah Paulson (psychic Billie Dean). Lily Rabe (Nora).
Like Lange and Quinto, all three will take on new characters.
"Everybody will be playing the opposite of what they played,” Murphy told fans and reporters, giving the only hint of what roles these stars might take on and adding that others from season one could also stop by: "Anybody could pop up at any time."
And while the series creator acknowledged season two will be set on the East Coast and tell a different story than last year - "a supernatural element" will be part of it, he simply said,...

"American Horror Story" co-creator Ryan Murphy announced tonight at PaleyFest that Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe will join Zachary Quinto and Jessica Lange to play completely new characters in the sophomore season of the FX horror anthology series. Says THR, Season 2 will shift from the creepy Los Angeles haunted mansion to an East Coast "horror institution," with SAG and Golden Globe award winner Jessica Lange (who co-starred as the all-knowing nosy next door neighbor Constance) and Zachary Quinto (who recurred as a ghost trapped in the house) previously confirmed to return. Peters co-starred as a mass-murderer-turned-ghost stuck in the house Tate Langdon, while Paulson had a more limited run as medium Billie Dean -- who in the penultimate "Birth" episode explained to Violet (Farmiga) that the house had a paramagnetic grip -- like a battery, with negative energy that feeds on trauma and draws things to it....

As promised, Ryan Murphy revealed three more returning American Horror Story actors at tonight's Paley Fest. First up is Sarah Paulson, who played psychic Billie Dean. Next is Lily Rabe, who played the house's original owner, Nora Montgomery. And third? Third is Evan Peters, who played mass murdering high schooler Tate Langdon. They join previously-announced returning stars Jessica Lange and Zachary Quinto. All five actors will be playing new characters in a new setting. Murphy, the co-creator of the show, says the show will be like an "Orson Welles radio play," in that the same actors will return in different roles. He also insinuated that any actor could pop up again, but promised that he is "giving the...

American Horror Story wrapped up its highly rated, Golden Globe-nominated first season on Dec. 21 with one hell of a cliffhanger. But the devilish dramatic flourish on the FX series didn’t happen in the final frames of “Afterbirth,” which unleashed a toddler Antichrist on the world (nannies, beware!) and left each member of the Harmon family – Ben (Dylan McDermott), Vivien (Connie Britton), and daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga) — dead and destined to spend eternity stuck in a haunted house with their one-eyed, two-faced maid (Francis Conroy/Alexandra Breckenridge), a Grunge-era mass murdering teen (Evan Peters), a hideous patchwork of sewn-together baby parts known as The Infantata,...

"American Horror Story" has put us through an emotional roller coaster of a first season. Its macabre nature may have turned some viewers away from their TV screens, but the FX show's jaw-dropping twists and dramatic performances have been keeping fans tuned in week-after-week.
Now, in "American Horror Story's" final hour, one has to wonder if Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott) can have any sort of a happy ending. While we can't be certain if his fate will a happy one, we do know that tonight's season finale completes the grim story of Ben Harmon, one filled with betrayal, shock and death.
Next season will see a new family move into the death house because, haven't the Harmons have suffered enough? That's just one of the many burning questions I have for the Season 1 finale of "American Horror Story."
Is Ben Harmon going to die?
Honestly, this makes the most sense.

American Horror Story Episode Eleven: And Then There Was One...
Oh. My. God. The penultimate episode of American Horror Story's first season brought the pain. Figuratively and literally.
R.I.P. Vivien Harmon (and Stillborn Harmon)
While I've had the feeling that another Harmon would bite the dust before the finale, the delivery of that foreshadowed doom was still a gut-wrenching experience. After that mind frak of a birthing scene, Vivien finally succumbed to the complications of her giving birth, which also took the life of Ben's child, as well. Now Ben is truly "alone" in that God forsaken House and he still doesn't have a clue about what's going on around him. Now after losing his wife, Violet, and his son (technically) all in one day, you have to imagine just how long will it take before Ben completely checks out mentally, by either hurting someone or killing himself in the process.

American Horror Story Review, Season 1, Episode 11, “Birth”
Written by Tim Minear
Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon
Airs Wednesdays at 10:00 pm Et on FX
Warning: Spoilers
This penultimate episode, “Birth,” feels like a finale. Without rushing, this episode builds an exciting momentum from the very beginning. Everyone in the house is ready for the twins, and Ben is caught in the middle. More on that later.
The opening flashback is extra creepy this week as little Tate encounters baby Thaddeus, the reanimated baby of Dr. Montgomery and Nora. The slow appearance of the face in the darkness is intriguing enough to bring anyone close to the screen to see exactly what it is. Then, it grabs you. The timing made this scare very effective, and is still unsettling after repeated viewings.
After the opener, the show spends some time with Violet. As expected, she finds herself in the doldrums of her newfound afterlife,...

So - "American Horror Story." If we thought the Harmons had to stay in the house because Violet was dead, guess there's now another reason.
The main plot of "Birth" is, unsurprisingly, Vivien giving birth to the twins. She is let out of the looney bin to go to her sister's place in Florida, but before she leaves, the doctor advises her that the "Alpha" twin is taking all the nutrients and the weaker twin is growing weaker by the day.
When she and Ben stop at home to get Violet (who tried to come with her dad to the psych ward, but obviously could not), Vivien goes into labor and Constance, Ben, Dr. Montgomery and the dead nurses are her delivery room team. Your cheater husband, the crazy neighbor, Dr. Frankenstein and two slaughtered nursing students? That is like ... the worst.
In the end, the weaker twin is stillborn and the Alpha twin survives.

Did anyone find this the funniest episode of "American Horror Story" yet? Not exactly laughing at the show, but just the most "black comedy" episode so far? Hmmm. This one almost begs a re-viewing, it was so off-the-walls.
As far as the main plot goes, the flashback this week is to an actual murder - Elizabeth Short, a.k.a. the Black Dahlia, from 1947. In this mythology, she came to The House to see a dentist, who put her under and raped her, then discovered he accidentally killed her. But lucky for him, Dr. Montgomery's ghost is lurking about and ready to slice 'n dice.
In the present, Elizabeth appears as a patient to Ben, whose only desire is to be famous. Hayden informs her that she is, in fact, quite famous.
Speaking of Hayden, she's still obsessed with getting back together with Ben, but she (kind of hilariously) seduces...
