- TriviaDick St. John (Richard St John Gosting, 1944-2003) and Dee Dee Sperling (Mary Sperling) were fellow high-school students who wrote songs together. They broke through with "The Mountain's High"/"I Want Someone" on Liberty Records and later recorded for Warner Brothers. They broke up in 1969, but Dick later revived the duo with his wife Sandy.
