Thurman Martin III is an experienced VFX Producer, Producers Guild of America member (PGA), and a developing creative film producer. Thurman has BA in Philosophy from Penn State University and received certification for TV and Film Producing at New York University (NYU). After graduation, he moved to New York City to explore his passion for the Film industry. Thurman was hired at The-Artery; a full service creative studio with a keen focus on Visual Effects. Thurman quickly rose to action and shined through his various positions at the company.
Thurman's first show was Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce (2019), where he was working as a Production Assistant. In the middle of the show, he was promoted and trained as a Visual Effects Coordinator. After working on Homecoming, he was able to serve as Visual Effects Coordinator on A24's Midsommar (2019), which received 77 award nominations and 28 award wins. Within 2 years of coordinating Visual Effects, he quickly rose the ranks to Associate Producer, where he had the opportunity to assist in producing the Visual Effects on Madonna's Madame X (2020-2021), and HBO's No Sudden Move (2020-2021). He was then quickly promoted to Visual Effects Producer.
Thurman had the opportunity to produce the VFX on Smile (2021-2022), working closely with Paramount Pictures. It has 2 award nominations in 2022, and a breakthrough Box Office performance. Additionally, Thurman was the VFX Producer for films and TV shows like Bruised (2020), Dexter: New Blood (2021-2022), Hocus Pocus 2 (2022), Armageddon Time (2022), and Causeway (2022). Thurman continues to shatter ceilings and break boundaries, while simultaneously refining his VFX Production capabilities and producing independent feature films.
