Idris Elba may be one of the internet's several husbands, but he's very much off the market. The "Luther: The Fallen Sun" star is married to model, activist, and beauty mogul Sabrina Dhowre Elba, having tied the knot in 2019. The couple recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary with heartfelt social media posts dedicated to each other.
On April 26, Elba shared a romantic photo of himself kissing his wife on the cheek as they enjoyed a private dinner on the beach. The table was covered with rose petals, and lanterns led the way to their table. "Happy Anniversary… You You," he captioned the post. His wife wasn't about to let the special day pass either. Dhowre Elba posted an Instagram video of them walking at dusk on the beach and running away from the waves. "Happy 4th anniversary baby, thank you for always helping me try to conquer my fears," she wrote as the caption.

While it has been widely believed Elba is a dad of two, he just revealed in an interview with the Mail on Sunday's You magazine on March 12 that he has a third child who prefers to be kept out of the spotlight.
"I have three kids actually. I have an older son, who's 31, though I wouldn't want to put him out there [by naming him] unless he was here [to consent to it]," Elba said. Little is known about his eldest,...

Idris Elba appears to have finally put the endless speculation about his future being with James Bond to rest in his new film Luther: The Fallen Sun – even rejecting the offer of a martini in one scene, which he acknowledges was tipping the wink to knowing fans.
He told the UK’s Guardian newspaper this weekend that he remains extremely close to Bond’s producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, but dismissed the idea of them ever offering him the role:
“I can’t speak for them, but from my perspective, there’s never been any sort of truth to any of it. It’s a compliment and it’s an honour, but it’s not a truth.”

Man of the moment, Idris Elba, led stars on the red carpet for the global premiere of "Luther: The Fallen Sun" in London on March 1. The 50-year-old wore a striking lilac suit for the occasion, complete with tunic top with an oversize collar and pleated shirt effect. He was joined by his wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, to celebrate the highly anticipated Netflix film.
The couple, who own beauty brand S'able together, were spotted laughing together, hugging, and, of course, looking achingly gorgeous while posing for the cameras. Sabrina was effortlessly chic for their star-studded date night, wearing a black, fitted, long-sleeved dress accessorized with pewter bubble belt straps across her waist. Her hair was styled into a sleek bob with side parting, and she added sphere drop earrings, winged eyeliner, and glossy lips to complete the look.

Actor Idris Elba says he’s going to stick with being the tormented detective John Luther — not James Bond.
Speaking Tuesday to the World Government Summit in Dubai, Elba brought up the persistent discussions about him taking over as Ian Fleming’s famed British spy. Those had grown louder after Daniel Craig’s demise as Bond in the 25th film in the franchise called “No Time to Die.”

A bevy of celebrities wore Gucci on the red carpet at the museum, dressed by the long-time supporter of the evening, before heading into a dinner honoring South Korean director Park Chan-wook (whose critically acclaimed Decision to Leave is South Korea’s official entry in the 2023 Oscars after snagging a best director trophy for the auteur in Cannes) and artist Helen Pashgian, a pioneering member of California’s Light and Space art movement.
The benefit — chaired once again by actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Lacma board member Eva Chow with additional support from luxury automaker Audi — last year raised a record 5 million for the museum, funds which serve both its broader mission and support Lacma’s focus on spotlighting film.

The stars were out on Thursday night in London for the British Film Institute’s Luminous Fundraising Gala. During the event, chair of the awards jury Tilda Swinton presented the inaugural BFI and Chanel Filmmaker Awards to four emerging U.K. directors.
Selected for their creative audacity and ambition, the winners of the BFI and Chanel Filmmaker Awards are Baff Akoto, artist/director (producer of “Queen of Glory”); Kathryn Ferguson, director/co-writer (“Nothing Compares”); Sam Firth, director/producer (“The Wolf Suit”); and Erfan Saadati, director/producer (“Child of Empire”).

Hollywood star Idris Elba hopes fans can “see themselves” in his new movie ‘The Beast’. Starring as recently widowed Dr. Nate Samuels who visits a South African game reserve with his two teenage daughters and the trio must fight to survive when stalked by a lion, the 50-year-old actor explained that he wants audiences to “relate” to the survival thriller, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“There’s definitely a lot of ingredients in this film, it’s a genre film, it’s popcorn and it’s designed to thrill. But at the same time, we want to add a layer that you care about.
“In some of these films, you have to have characters that you can relate to and care about and see a little bit of yourself within so that you care whether they get away from the beast or not and that is part of the c,” he said,...

Idris Elba said his daughter ignored him for weeks after not landing a part in his latest film, Beast.
The new thriller stars the British actor as a recently widowed father who travels to a South African wildlife reserve with his two daughters. What’s supposed to be a healing retreat turns into a fight for survival when a bloodthirsty lion begins stalking them.
Last week on an episode of iHeart Radio’s The Breakfast Club, Elba revealed that his 20-year-old daughter, Isan, didn’t speak to him “for about three weeks” after she lost out on the role to play his daughter in the movie.
“She auditioned, and it came down to chemistry in the end. She’s great, but the relationship in the film and the relationship between my daughter was... the chemistry wasn’t right for the film, weirdly enough,” he explained.

Idris Elba's latest movie, "Beast," almost starred his daughter, Isan - but when she didn't get the role in a rare case of nepotism not working out well for an aspiring actor, she wasn't happy with her famous father.
"She auditioned and it came down to chemistry in the end," Elba said in an Aug. 11 interview on iHeart Radio's morning show "The Breakfast Club," noting that she would have played his character's daughter - except for the fact that, ironically, their onscreen father-daughter dynamic didn't read quite right. "She's great, but the relationship in the film and the relationship between my daughter was, the chemistry wasn't right for the film, weirdly enough," Elba said.
Producer Will Packer, who was also on the interview, ultimately broke the news to her that she didn't get the part. "I called and talked to her, 'cause I've known her for a very long time,...

Although Isan, 20, supported her dad during the August 8 red carpet premiere for “Beast”, Idris, 49, added that it was difficult for her to accept the news.

When I first learned that Idris Elba would be saddling up for Netflix's Concrete Cowboy, that's all I needed to know. I mean, Elba as a cowboy? Count me in! The father-son film - which hit the streamer on April 2 - follows 15-year-old Cole (Caleb McLaughlin) after he's expelled from school in Detroit and his mom sends him to North Philadelphia to live with his estranged father, Harp (Elba). The modern western is set around Fletcher Street Stables, one of the oldest Black urban horsemanship communities in Philadelphia.
To prepare for his role, Elba actually took horseback riding lessons, despite being allergic to horses. "This was one of those moments that I just realized that I could put my own uncomfortability aside for something way bigger," Elba told Entertainment Tonight Canada. In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Edris explained that horseback riding "goes beyond just learning how to ride a horse.

Netflix has paused shooting on “The Harder They Fall” after a member of the production tested positive for Covid-19, Variety has confirmed.
The Western, which stars Idris Elba and Regina King, was roughly five weeks into shooting in New Mexico. No members of the primary cast tested positive, according to an insider.
