In the Aughts, Killer Mike was a fiery maelstrom, the South’s answer to Ice Cube, and an Atlanta polemicist comfortable with both dope-boy fantasies and bruising Black politics. But it’s been eleven years since R.A.P. Music, a classic pairing with rapper/producer El-p that inspired the two to form the world-conquering duo Run the Jewels. On his sixth album, Michael, the rapper focuses on his personal life, particularly his late mother and grandmother, with uncharacteristic empathy and restraint, even as he continues to utilize his uniquely brusque vocal style.

Killer Mike is gearing up to release his new album, Michael, this Friday, and he’s shared a collaboration with fellow Atlanta rappers André 3000 and Future called “Scientists & Engineers” as a final preview. Stream it below.
Also featuring a contribution from R&b singer Eryn Allen Kane, the “Scientists & Engineers” instrumental contains futuristic synths that contrast with the soulful backing vocals about living forever as all three rappers spit introspective verses. Whereas André hopes he’ll get a “second wind” at 80 and Future talks about turning “a trap house to a ranch,” Mike closes out the track by promising to keep it “a hundred percentage authentic.” He adds, “I got no gimmicks, so I ain’t protectin’ no image.”
Along with “Scientists & Engineers,” Mike shared the full list of features for the album, which includes Ty Dolla $ign, Curren$y, 2 Chainz, 6Lack, Kaash Paige, CeeLo Green, Jagged Edge, Mozzy,...

Saweetie seems to be making things official with fellow rapper Yg. The two musicians were photographed packing on the Pda in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on May 28, per photos obtained by TMZ.
Dating rumors between the two have been swirling for a while. Saweetie attended Yg's birthday party in March and then were reportedly spotted at the same restaurant in Los Angeles, per Xxl. Before they began to fuel dating rumors, though, they were collaborators, with both lending features to Mozzy's July 2022 track "In My Face." They also teamed up with Tyga for their hit "Money Mouf" in 2020.
It's unclear when things turned romantic, but in the past, Saweetie revealed that she tends to take a confident approach to dating. "I recently used this pick-up line on someone. I said that 'I was looking for you,'" she told Popsugar in 2021. "I think that's a great pick-up line, so you should try it.

It’s a sunny day in New York City, but the lights are dim inside the restaurant Jue Lan in Manhattan, a go-to for industry dinners and celebrations, which may explain the casino lighting that permeates certain corners of the establishment. Est Gee and his two-person team aren’t celebrating in the upstairs suite they’ve booked, though the table’s platter of shrimp, oxtail tacos, and fruity-looking drinks looks like a Rick Ross lyric.
