Season 18 of Married at First Sight is just around the corner and we already have a synopsis of what to expect on the first two episodes.
After a lengthy wait, the popular lifetime series is set to return on October 15 and there’s already news of drama among the Chicago couples.
Season 17 featured the show’s first runaway bride whose identity has been kept under wraps.
Season 18 will feature another first for the franchise as the sneak peek teased a cheating scandal and a couples swap.
We have to wait and see how that storyline plays out but for now, we’re looking forward to seeing how the new couples will fare as the show returns to Chicago after first heading to the Windy City in Season 5.
However, the season is already sparking backlash from viewers, some of whom claim they will be boycotting the show as it has strayed...

“Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter,” an “Entertainment Tonight” special paying tribute to the comedy icon following his recent death, hit 4.1 million viewers on CBS on Monday.
That made it the most-watched program in its 8 p.m. timeslot — surpassing the viewership of “American Ninja Warrior” (2.7 million viewers on NBC), “The Bachelorette” (2.6 million viewers on ABC), “Name That Tune” (1.4 million viewers on Fox) and “All American: Homecoming” — and the most-watched program of the night when excluding sports telecasts.

The 2024 Daytime Emmys went largely according to script on June 7, but there were still more than a few surprises. As always, some of the best moments occurred when the winners genuinely didn’t see that Emmy coming. See the complete winners list.
Here are the Top 5 of those shocking winners on the “shockmeter” scale.
1. Michelle Stafford, Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for “The Young and the Restless.”
Most Gold Derby editors and users seemed to think that it was a battle between “General Hospital” heroines Finola Hughes and Cynthia Watros. So Stafford did a classic jaw-drop when her name was called, giving the night the one big upset that it needed. Stafford’s portrayal of Phyllis Summers had previously earned her a Supporting Actress Emmy in 1997 and a Lead Actress statuette in 2004. Two decades later, she’s an official triple Emmy champ – not to mention the night’s biggest daytime drama queen.

Austin Reed has been keeping a low profile on social media since his Married at First Sight debut, but he recently resurfaced for a live chat with castmate Michael Shiakallis.
The duo dished about their time on what many have dubbed the worst season in the show’s history and answered questions from curious viewers.
One thing that people wanted to know about was the mystery behind Austin’s reunion beard.
It became a major topic of conversation after viewers noticed that Austin had his thick, brown beard on display in one scene and was clean-shaven the next minute.
Mafs host Kevin Frazier asked the 32-year-old about it on camera, but his response didn’t offer viewers much clarity.
Now, Austin’s finally ready to share the truth about that, and it has much to do with his frustration with the producers and editors of the show.

The Price is Right host Drew Carey isn’t worried that Ryan Seacrest will struggle in his role as the host of Wheel of Fortune.
The 65-year-old TV personality recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier about his own career and offered up some advice for Ryan while he was at it.
When asked what advice he has for Ryan, Drew joked, “Do I have any advice for billionaire Ryan Seacrest? Who hosts everything all the time? No.”
“Bro, I think you got it. I think you know what to do. I think you know how to host things,” the Whose Line Is It Anyway? star continued.
Drew noted that Ryan doesn’t have anything to worry about when he takes the stage at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, this fall.
Drew added, “Don’t worry about it. You’re going to be fine.”

Kevin Frazier got a nasty Dm on social media and he suspects it was a Married at First Sight star who wrote the shady message.
The long-running reunion host put the “thumb thug” on blast and asked his followers to guess which Mafs star could be behind the “you suck as a host” comment.
Interestingly, two names kept popping up as people reacted to the hilarious post.
Some people guessed Season 17 star Emily Balch, who had a tense faceoff with Kevin at the reunion.
That’s a pretty good guess because Emily’s castmate Chloe Brown also accused the blonde beauty and her Pink Pact of using burner accounts to post nasty comments about her.
Another name that came up while fans were playing the guessing game, was controversial Season 12 star Chris Williams, who had a penchant for lashing out at his Mafs castmates and the show’s experts.

Carey recently commented on his longevity as the game show’s host and discussed how long he plans to continue with the gig.

Jay Leno and his wife, Mavis Leno, appeared at the Unfrosted premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday (April 30), their first public appearance since the comedian was granted conservatorship of the couple’s joint estate. As previously reported, Jay filed for a conservatorship in January amid his wife’s battle with advanced dementia. The conservatorship, which allows Jay to oversee Mavis’ estate and finances (not her person), was granted in early April. On Tuesday evening, Mavis joined her husband of 44 years at the red carpet premiere of Jerry Seinfeld‘s new Netflix movie, Unfrosted, which lands on the streamer on Friday, May 3. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight reporter Kevin Frazier, Mavis said, “I feel great.” “ thought I’d come to something fun for a change,” the former Tonight Show host added. “Everything is so controversial. Married at First Sight Season 17 is limping to a close. The chaotic Denver-set season of the Lifetime reality series resulted in no lasting marriages but did produce plenty of animosity between the cast members, which was on full display during the two-part reunion.

Yikes. Married at First Sight’s messy Denver season is drawing to a close, but the anger and animosity between the cast isn’t letting up.
The two-part season 17 reunion featured tears, cheating accusations, and stunning admissions. Cast members revealed that they’d colluded to try to shape the show’s narrative, including deleting diary cams and lying to the experts during counseling sessions. Clare accused her ex, Cameron, of masterminding the whole plan, which he denied. Emily suggested Cameron was faking his heart problem to get out of filming. Brennan finally admitted he wasn’t attracted to Emily because of her drunken, party-girl antics and irresponsible financial behavior. Emily clashed with reunion host Kevin Frazier and stormed off stage during one particularly heated moment. In other words, it was a mess.

The Married at First Sight reunion is turning out to be more entertaining than the entire season because now everything that happened off-screen is coming to light.
The latest revelation is that Emily Balch tried to make out with Brennan Shoykhet’s friend, a claim she did not deny when confronted at the reunion.
In Part 2 Emily and Brennan face off for a final time before wiping their hands clean of each other for good.
In a teaser for what’s to come, it’s Brennan’s turn to question his estranged wife about cheating on him during a night out.
That too happened off-screen but Cameron Frazer dropped the hot tea during his appearance on the Mafs Afterparty some time ago.
Becca Haley — another guest on the show — displayed annoyance at Cameron’s surprising revelation.
However, she admitted that Emily had kissed an Australian guy at a bar after...

When Part 2 of the Married at First Sight reunion plays out you’ll see Brennan Shoykhet and Cameron Frazer in the hot seat.
Earlier in the season, the claims were that Cameron — who had already called it quits with his wife Clare Kerr — wanted to go on a double date with Brennan.
The problem though is that Brennan’s wife Emily Balch was hopeful that their marriage had made a turn for the better.
However, she was dealt a devastating blow in Episode 19 when Clare visited her apartment and told her that Brennan was not a good guy.
“I’ve heard through the grapevine he wanted to go on a double date with Cameron and that he is going on dates,” Clare told a tearful Emily.
Now it’s time for Brennan and Cameron to explain themselves as reunion host Kevin Frazier gets to the bottom of the accusation.

After the recent revelations from the Married at First Sight cast it’s hard to figure out what was real and what was made up and now fans of the show are doubting everything.
Take the runaway bride situation, for example, that moment marked the first time in the show’s history that a bride didn’t make it down the aisle, but was it fake?
That’s what fans of the show are asking now that we know the entire Denver cast orchestrated sham storylines unknown to the producers and the experts.
The husbands confessed during Part 1 of the reunion that they all banded together early in the season and discussed a plan to deceive the process so they wouldn’t look bad on TV.
Those conversations seemingly didn’t involve Michael because his first bride never made it down the aisle and he was Mia for several of the early episodes.
