1975 to 1998 Lecturer in corporate finance at the Kiel Business Academy. 1985 Member of the Board of Management of Wirtschaftsaufbaukasse Schleswig-Holstein AG, after the merger with Wohnungsbaukreditanstalt to form Schleswig-Holsteinische Investitionsbank, member of the Executive Board; 1991 Member of the Board of Management and since 1992 Spokesman of the Board of Management of Landkreditbank Schleswig-Holstein AG, 1994 Member of the Board of Management of Bank Companie Nord AG; since January 1995 independent management consultant.
Since 1993 Chairman of the Hermann-Ehlers-Stiftung e. V., since 2001 Member of the Board of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
