Br., Montpellier and Münster, 1973 1st state examination for teaching at grammar schools, 1977 doctorate in economic and social history, 1982 additional examination in sociology in Münster; 1985 to 1992 part-time further training as family therapist and supervisor.
From 1973 research assistant and academic tutor at the University of Freiburg, 1977 to 1994 teacher at grammar schools in Ahaus and Gronau.
