- Julia Romanovich was born in Moscow, and is of Estonian, Ukrainian and Belarusian descent, a direct descendant of a renowned geneticist Anton Romanovich Zhebrak who participated in the UN founding conference in San Francisco and signed the United Nations Charter on behalf of the Belarusian delegation. "My great grandfather as well as my grandfather were great theatre enthusiasts, and I still remember my grandfather telling me stories about the magnificent performances he had seen with his father, I guess that in turn inspired me. I would picture those beautiful stories, immersing myself in the make-belief world."
At the age of 7 immigrated to the Mediterranean island of Malta where her family set up a catering company. Graduated from Verdala International School, however due to insufficient knowledge of the Russian language completed another year at RBSM (Russian Boarding School Malta). At the age of 19 made plans to immigrate to Los Angeles and pursue an education in the performing arts, however such plans were not met with enthusiasm on behalf of the family, and instead attended a business school in Switzerland, completing a degree with Honours in the second-upper division.
However, over the years the love for theatre and the performing arts still took over "it is something you don't get over". She began to take part in Maltese productions, alongside brilliant local talents. In 2016 Julia was nominated for Best Upcoming Actress by the MADC theatre company in Malta for the role in Harold Pinter's Mountain Language. Participated as a walk-on actress on the hit Maltese sitcom Klassi Ghalina.
