Knowing that The Voice would be eliminating five singers in Tuesday’s second (and final) Live Cross Battles Results Show, I made a few fearless predictions before Season 16’s Top 24 were revealed. Thinking over Monday’s performances, and considering the results of TVLine’s poll, I figured that the contestants who’d be losing their Battles would be Team Adam’s Lb Crew, Team Legend’s Julian King, Team Legend’s Jacob Maxwell, Team Kelly’s The Bundys, Team Blake’s Karly Moreno, Team Legend’s Jimmy Mowery, Team Legend’s Beth Griffith-Manley and Team Kelly’s Abby Kasch.

Well, Voice fans, it’s been a long and bumpy road. Over the course of Season 15, we’ve seen good singers cut too soon (SandyRedd, Kameron Marlowe, etc.) and mediocre ones cut too late (Tyke James, Reagan Strange, etc.). We’ve discovered just how far into his own mouth Adam Levine can stick his own foot, and watched Kennedy Holmes kick ass. And we’ve sat through so many of Carson Daly’s inane questions for the contestants that we’ve all but given up groaning like Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers when he asks ’em. But Monday night,...

According to Gold Derby’s exclusive predictions for “The Voice,” the two artists most in danger of going home during Top 10 week are Dave Fenley of Team Blake Shelton (1/3 odds) and DeAndre Nico of Team Adam Levine (3/10 odds). As a refresher, DeAndre just fought for the instant save last week against Lynnea Moorer, while Dave has never felt the sting of being in the bottom. See more odds and rankings for Top 10 week.

In a season that has been superabundant with teenage prodigies, Sarah Grace appeared to be the one flying under the radar. That was until the 16-year old from Team Kelly Clarkson pulled out her trumpet and wowed viewers with a bluesy version of “Amazing Grace,” interpreted through the music of the classic rock song “House of the Rising Sun.” Sarah came up with the risky concept herself, and the gamble paid off. Her single skyrocketed to #3 on the iTunes chart, making it the highest charting song yet from Season 15 of “The Voice.”
While iTunes is no longer an official voting method, it remains one visible way to find out which artists are striking a cord with viewers. At the time voting closed, Team Blake Shelton‘s Kirk Jay was right on Sarah’s heels. The Alabama country singer peaked at #4 with his stirring rendition of “Tomorrow,” earning him his second top 10 hit in three weeks.

During the Tuesday, November 27 episode of “The Voice,” Lynnea Moorer‘s journey came to an end after she lost the instant save vote to DeAndre Nico. Lynnea had already felt the sting of defeat back in the blind auditions when none of the four coaches turned their chairs around for her, but thanks to the Comeback Stage twist she was able to re-enter the competition as the fourth member of Team Kelly Clarkson. Unfortunately, Lynnea’s “Tattooed Heart” performance (watch above) failed to connect with the live audience and she was sent home in 11th place, as Gold Derby predicted. So was the comeback twist a bust? Give us your thoughts down in the comments section.

A dark cloud of foreboding hung over Tuesday’s episode of The Voice. Going into the Top 11 results show, I was sure, absolutely sure, that two vocalists I really liked were destined to sing for the Instant Save: Team Blake’s Dave Fenley, whose fan-assigned cover of Bill Withers’ “Use Me” was going to make it easy for viewers to add “Ref” before the song’s title, and Team Kelly’s Sarah Grace, whose rendition of the fan-chosen “Dog Days Are Over” had sounded like Florence + the Malfunctioning Machine.

Monday’s episode of The Voice gave us a little a lot of extra power by allowing viewers to pick the songs that the contestants would be performing. And on one hand, that twist — set in motion for the third season in a row — seemed to hold a good deal of promise. Would we/Could we possibly point singers toward more disastrous numbers than, say, um, Adam Levine? Doubtful.
On the other hand, Season 15 had already proven to be crazy unpredictable. You know I wasn’t big on Tyke James, but even I was flummoxed by the fact that his...

‘The Voice’ Season 15 outrage: Which eliminated artist deserved a spot in the Top 13? [Poll Results]
Last week on “The Voice,” 13 aspiring artists were sent packing when coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and Blake Shelton were forced to cut their teams in half. Not everyone was happy with the results from the public and the coaches, so in a recent poll we asked our readers who they thought was unfairly axed from the competition. Who was the best eliminated artist that deserved to move forward?
With 22% of the votes, Team Jennifer’s Patrique Fortson had the most outraged fans following his premature elimination. Trailing close behind were Team Blake’s Michael Lee with 19% and Team Adam’s Radha with 18%. Kameron Marlowe (Team Adam) and Zaxai (Team Kelly) rounded out the top five, each earning 9% of the votes.

S— just got real on The Voice. In Monday’s jam-packed episode, all 24 members of Teams Blake Shelton, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine sang for a spot in the Top 12 — or, rather, the Top 13 since a contestant from The Comeback Stage (probably Lynnea Moorer) would also be winning a place in the lineup on Tuesday.
Prior to watching the performances, I imagined that the vocalists who’d advance would be (in alphabetical order): Dave Fenley, Natasia GreyCloud, Patrique Fortson, Sarah Grace, Kennedy Holmes, Kirk Jay, Kymberli Joye, Chris Kroeze, Michael Lee, Radha, SandyRedd and Reagan Strange. But then,...

The first live show of season 15 of “The Voice” is on November 12. Each coach — reigning champ Kelly Clarkson, returning coach Jennifer Hudson, three-time winner Adam Levine or six-time victor Blake Shelton — has six artists on their team. We wondered which of these four was the best coach with the strongest team and the top choice in our poll was Hudson with 31% of the vote. This Grammy and Oscar winner saw her team shut out of the Top 8 when she coached for the first time last fall.
Clarkson is the pick of just over one in four readers (27%) while just under that number (26%) expect Shelton to win for a seventh time. Only 16% of readers expect Adam Levine to finally add a fourth trophy to his mantle. If you haven’t cast your ballot yet, vote in our poll below and then be sure to sound off on your favorite coach and artist in the comments section.

Adam Levine is still looking for that elusive fourth win as a coach on “The Voice.” Over the course of the three knockout episodes of season 15, the Maroon 5 frontman had to winnow his team down to five picks. He also picked up a steal from another coach when that artist lost their battle. Which of the six artists on his team heading into the Top 24 round do you think could go all the way and win “The Voice”?

For the first time in “The Voice” history, two artists who were eliminated back in the blind auditions will now sing for America’s vote in the live playoffs. And it’s all thanks to the Comeback Stage twist. The fifth coach of Season 15, Kelsea Ballerini, has spent the past few weeks mentoring six artists who didn’t turn any chairs in the blinds. After cutting four of those contenders, Kelsea’s two remaining finalists will now perform live next week on “The Voice.” So who they are? Scroll down for spoilers on the Comeback Stage or watch NBC’s video above.

If we didn’t know I sucked at predictions before, we sure do now. As we headed into Night 2 of The Voice’s Season 15 Knockouts, five singers I’d expected not to make it through had competed… and every last one of them had made it through! Mind you, the coaches had been making some straaange calls Monday. Particularly bewildering was Adam Levine’s insistence on keeping around Tyke James’ lustrous mane — and, unfortunately, Tyke with it! And who could’ve guessed that Katrina Cain would fall apart so disastrously? (Well, I suppose technically, we all could’ve guessed after her Battle went so poorly.

During Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” Jennifer Hudson paired up MaKenzie Thomas and Mike Parker in the third knockout round of Season 15. MaKenzie sang Bee Gees‘s “How Deep Is Your Love” while Mike took on The Script‘s “Breakeven.” Even though the young artists were performing for a slot on Jennifer’s team, rival coach Kelly Clarkson got so into MaKenzie’s performance that she ended up with a leg cramp. During Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” Kelly Clarkson paired up Kymberli Joye, Zaxai and Natasia Greycloud in the second knockout round of Season 15. It was a rare three-person knockout since blues singer Cody Ray Raymond had to withdraw from the reality TV competition for personal reasons. Kymberli took on “The Middle,” Zaxai wowed with “Cruisin'” and Natasia sang “Tennessee Whiskey.” After a brief deliberation, Kelly advanced both Kymberli and Zaxai to the live shows, but Natasia’s journey wasn’t over yet. Before we get to discussing, dissecting and debating the first of The Voice’s Season 15 Knockouts, some fearless predictions — eight to be exact. The following are the singers — chosen, cross my heart and hope to die, prior to seeing a moment of Monday’s show — that I didn’t expect to reach to reach the Top 24. Ready? Here we go…
From Team Adam: Tyke James, Steve Memmolo
From Team Blake: Colton Smith, Funsho
From Team Jennifer: Anthony Arya, MaKenzie Thomas
From Team Kelly: Claire DeJean, Zaxai
Ordinarily, I’d say that my fearless predictions should be taken with a whole shaker of salt.

Pop superstar Mariah Carey joins “The Voice” on Monday as Knockouts start in Season 15. Singers with such overwhelming talent don’t always know how to help others who don’t, so will Carey be a great advisor to the remaining artists?
Battle rounds are now over, so decisions for the coaches will be tougher than ever for this season. Anybody winning in the Knockouts will advance to the live shows beginning November 12. Coaches for this autumn season are reigning champ Kelly Clarkson, British “The Voice” coaching winner Jennifer Hudson, six-time coaching champion Blake Shelton and three-time winner Adam Levine. Each coach will have one steal and one save during this round.

Maybe The Voice had been doing us a favor by chopping some of its Season 15 Battles down to next to nothing. Initially, I’d felt gipped and like it was scarcely better than the dreaded montage treatment. (I suspect most of you felt that way, too, yes?) But headed into Night 3, I thought maybe the show was being kind, not only to singers who hadn’t done so well but also to us. I mean, would you really have wanted to hear another second of Jarred Matthew and Tyke James’ assault on Billy Joel’s “She’s Always a Woman”? I know I wouldn’t.

My jaw still hurt going into Tuesday’s episode of The Voice. The Battles had literally just begun a day earlier when Kelly Clarkson made such a “Wait, whaaat?!?” kind of a decision following the first sing-off that my jaw hit the floor with the thud of a two-ton mic drop. Cody Ray Raymond is a fine vocalist, to be sure, but to choose to keep him on her team over SandyRedd, who not only ranks high on TVLine’s list of Season 15’s Top 10 Blinds, but has her picture in the dictionary next to the term “showstopper”? Uh-uh, no.

Now that the teams are assembled for Season 15 of “The Voice,” which coach do you think has the best group of artists from top to bottom? Is it reigning champ Kelly Clarkson, now returning for her second season? Could it be Oscar champion Jennifer Hudson, who is also on her second cycle after taking last spring off? How about six-time coaching winner Blake Shelton or three-time champ Adam Levine?

As The Voice kicked off Season 15’s Blind Auditions Monday night, I swore to myself — yes, again — that I’d be a tougher grader this time around. I know — man, do I ever know — how annoyed you are when I get swept up in the excitement of a performance and assign a higher grade than, in retrospect, maybe I should’ve. But then the show started, and I’ll be damned if I didn’t get sucked in by its manipulative, aspirational introduction. So we’ll see how it goes gradewise; I assume, as ever, you won’t be shy...
