According to reports, the Cricket Advisory Committee (Cac), including Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjape, and Sulakshana Naik, interviewed him yesterday via a Zoom call.

Put in to bat, Das had a lucky reprieve in the fourth over when George Dockrell shelled a catch in the deep off Mark Adair and conceded a six. Das followed it up with back-to-back boundaries and never looked back from there.

Notably, a Daily Mail report on January 7, had said that the Icc’s Anti-Corruption Unit (Acu) has received several reports regarding corrupt practices in the recent edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 which took place from November 23 to December 4, 2022.
However, the T Ten Sports Management on Saturday issued a statement and denied the charges.
“As a responsible event owner, we host the tournament at a high-quality international stadium. We attract some of the world’s best players, while also developing local talent and employing international level Icc and Acc match officials and referees,” the statement read.

Stokes further stated, "Test cricket has been spoken about in a way I don’t like. It is losing the attention of the fans with all the new formats and franchise competitions".
The Icc and cricket administrators around the world have realised the slow and gradual demise of the conventional and authentic form of the game. The World Test Championship was one positive initiative taken to revive the downtrend, however, this too has not brought about the boost one hoped for.
England under Ben Stokes looks to be changing the way teams will approach Test cricket. They have shown that they need to induce exciting and positive strokeplay with a desire to play for a result. England have shown the way ahead and have also been successful.
Cricket needs to be looked at as entertainment, especially in the fast, busy and tension-filled world that one presently lives in.

On Day Four, Mominul Haque dropped a regulation catching chance of Ravichandran Ashwin at short leg, which turned out to be a crucial turning point as the right-hander shared an unbeaten 71-run stand with Shreyas Iyer as India secured a 2-0 series sweep.
“It is slightly disappointing, as other teams don’t miss the chances that we are missing. Those made the difference. We could have bowled them out for 250 instead of 314 (in the first innings). There was a...

Dhaka, Dec 24 (Ians) Despite India suffered a top-order collapse in a chase of 145 to end day three of second Test at 45/4 in 23 overs, pacer Mohammed Siraj feels that there isnt much to worry about, citing a well-set Axar Patel unbeaten on 26 and Rishabh Pant as well as Shreyas Iyer yet to come out to bat.
Bangladesh started their defense of 145 on day three with Kl Rahul edging behind off captain Shakib Al Hasan in the third over. Off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz took over to have Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill stumped, and followed it up with Virat Kohli giving a catch to short leg on forward defense.
“According to me, we shouldn’t be thinking too much as till now, four wickets have fallen and still 100 more are needed. We have one of our batters in Axar, who has shown positive intent and has played well till now. When one...

Dhaka, Dec 23 (Ians) Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer slammed counter-attacking fifties to put India in an advantageous position on day two of second Test against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, here on Friday.
It was a day where Bangladesh took out India’s top three in the first session and then took out Virat Kohli quickly in the second session to leave them at 94/4. That’s when Pant and Iyer joined forces for an important 159-run stand for the fifth wicket, which made the difference for India in taking a sizable 87-run lead.
Though the duo fell short of their respective centuries, as Pant made 93 off 104 balls and Iyer scored 87 off 105 balls, the efforts from the left-right batting duo on a tough, deteriorating pitch, including making 140 runs in the second session at a run rate of 5.6.
Bangladesh openers Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto did well to negotiate six tricky overs before stumps.

Dhaka, Dec 22 (Ians) Captain K.L. Rahul and Shubman Gill held their nerve towards the end of the first day as they took India to 19/0 in eight overs at stumps on day one in the second Test and trail Bangladesh by 208 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
It was a day in which India thrived on a pitch which had some grass on it. Fast bowler Umesh Yadav and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin picked four wickets each to bowl out Bangladesh for 227 in 73.5 overs, with a returning Mominul Haque being the lone ranger with a stroke-filled and calm 84.
In the final session, Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit a couple of boundaries before nicking behind to Rishabh Pant off Umesh. The pacer had another wicket in quick succession when he got one to come in and trap Nurul Hasan lbw. Umesh had his fourth wicket when Taskin Ahmed went for a...

Dhaka, Dec 22 (Ians) Bangladesh batter Mominul Haque broke his run of nine consecutive single-digit scores with a stroke-filled 65 not out. But India continued to strike, taking important scalps as Bangladesh reached 184/5 at tea on day one of the second Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
It was a session in which the batters like Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das got starts. But neither of them couldn’t last long for a big score, as India made strikes at regular intervals, with Jaydev Unadkat looking impressive in just his second Test with his accuracy and ability to challenge Bangladesh batters with seam and extra bounce.
India had success straightaway after lunch as Shakib looked to clear Umesh Yadav over mid-off, but gave a simple catch to the fielder. They were able to keep Mominul and Rahim quiet though the duo got a boundary each.
