Chris Pine’s role in the DC Universe was certainly iconic. Being one of the most beloved actors in the industry, his portrayal of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman franchise came with nothing short of appreciation. Especially following the course of the first movie, his ultimate sacrifice touched the hearts of many, making it cruel to learn that his appearance in the sequel was next to nothing.
A still from Wonder Woman
Although the first film had a lot going on for it, including the growing reputation of Patty Jenkins because of its success, a lot relied on the second film. Gal Gadot’s portrayal as the titular character was taken well, as was every other aspect of the franchise; up until the sequel. However, Pine has something different to say about the same.

Chris Pine co-starred alongside Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984, both directed by Patty Jenkins.
However, we learned that DC is currently not interested in doing more Wonder Woman films, at least at this time. DC Universe went through a major overhaul after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over, with only 5 original stars confirmed to return for future films.
Chris spoke out about the studio’s decision.

Chris told Business Insider, “I’m stunned that they said no to a billion-dollar franchise and decided to pivot elsewhere. I don’t know what the reasoning was behind that; it’s above my pay grade, but Wonder Woman is an incredible character; Patty is such a thoughtful director.”
He did add that he would not have been involved in the third film, due to his characters death. “Homie is dead. Steve is gonzo.

The End We Start From has unfortunately been marketed as a disaster movie. A new mother's odyssey from sunken London, through the chaos of flooded England, to track down her lost husband. Baby in tow, she battles valiantly to ... That's not really this film. Justifiably, some people who have seen it have been quite disappointed. They were expecting action and adventure, a ripping yarn of epic proportions. What they got was a natural disaster as a metaphor for childbirth and early motherhood.
Jodie Comer's character, Woman, is in the late stages of pregnancy. She is at home alone, just pottering about the house. It starts to rain and then flood. As the water comes in under her door she goes into labour. As she gives birth at the hospital her house is inundated by the deluge. The imagery is laid on pretty heavy handedly. The juxtaposition of birth and torrent.

Julio Torres is crediting Ryan Gosling for being a “world-builder” of a comedic actor.
The “Problemista” writer/director/star told Entertainment Weekly that Gosling had more than a few sketch ideas when he returned to host “SNL.” Torres previously worked as a “Saturday Night Live” writer, and also returned with a skit per Gosling’s request to follow-up their viral “Papyrus” sequence parodying the font used in James Cameron’s “Avatar.” And much like the “Avatar” franchise itself, Gosling had a vision for making multiple installments of the “Papyrus” sketch.
“With no Ryan Gosling, there’s no ‘Papyrus 1,’ and there’s no ‘Papyrus 2,’” Torres said. “The first one was this sort of throwaway joke I made that he really latched on to. He was like, ‘Oh, I think maybe there’s an idea there,’ and I was like, ‘I really don’t think so.’ I didn’t tell him that,...

Zack Snyder’s vision for the Dceu was regarded as legendary. His storytelling, cinematography, and design methods were excellent, and he understood the characters he was portraying perfectly well. Even though he has walked away from the franchise, these are facts that no one can take away from him.
Gal Gadot in and as Wonder Woman
While working with DC Studios, he was a part of many projects, even a few that were never released. In an older post, the filmmaker revealed the concept art for a third Wonder Woman movie that never happened; Wonder Woman 1854. During a recent interview, he was asked about the same, and he revealed the theme that the movie would have followed.

Olivia Williams has given acclaimed performances in “Rushmore,” “The Sixth Sense” and “An Education.” She recently appeared as Camilla Parker Bowles in the final two seasons of Netflix’s popular drama series “The Crown.” But for many people, the British actor will always be Felicity from the Season 4 finale of “Friends.” Williams once called guest starring on the NBC sitcom “harrowing,” and she recently opened up to The Independent about the reasons why it wasn’t the best experience in a recent interview.
“Gosh. Well, just as an example, I was taken to the studio in a shared car with a wonderful actress whose character, I think, was called ‘Old Woman’,” Williams said, noting this actor was “distinguished” and “very good” but “at one point, a producer – who shall remain nameless – just yelled at her: ‘You’re not funny!’ And she didn’t come back the next day. So that was alarming.

While Superhero-fatigue was not at its peak, several movies from both superhero brands— Marvel and DC Studios, enjoyed the heydays at the box office. Amid that, stand-alone female-led movies have also seen astonishing success.
Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot, in particular, was the perfect example of the rise of female-led superhero flicks as the 2017 movie went on to be a critical darling with a stunning box-office performance. Fox’s X-Men movie series based on the Marvel characters also enjoyed a mild buzz for a female-led movie with Dafne Keen but it did not see the light of day as of yet.

Throughout the course of the Dceu, we saw Wonder Woman in a variety of environments – in her native home of Themiscyra with the Amazons; fighting through the battlefields of World War I with Steve Trevor; living in 1980s USA in Wonder Woman 1984; and battling alongside Batman and Superman in the present-day in Justice League. But, once upon a time, there was an idea to present a different kind of early Wonder Woman story – one that would have seen her fighting in the Crimean War in the 1800s. All that came of the possible project – dubbed ‘Wonder Woman 1854’ – was an image that Snyder shared on social media, with Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince surrounded by soldiers and… er, holding three severed heads.
In Empire’s major new interview with Snyder – in The Acolyte issue – we posed him your reader questions. And among them came up the topic of Wonder Woman 1854, and what it might have been.

Lashana Lynch has found the optimal next role. The actor is attached to star in Optimize, a sci-fi feature from filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer.
Paramount is making the project with Beer’s Lab Brew banner as part of the filmmaker’s first-look deal with the studio. According to the logline, Optimize centers on an “average woman” who “utilizes an AI assistant to optimize all facets of her life, but soon finds that the AI’s pursuit of perfection comes at too high a cost.”
Before she was the director of projects such as Pet Sematary: Bloodlines and the screenwriter behind features such as Chaos Walking, Anderson Beer attended Stanford, where she studied artificial intelligence and robotics. That experience came in handy in crafting Optimize, first as a short story and now as a feature.

This past Wednesday Marvel Studios made a very special casting announcement via their social media platforms. It was a gift much sweeter and tasty than any Valentine’s Day candy sampler. And it’s been in the works for nearly five years. That’s when Disney officially purchased Fox Studios, which finally brought one of the most celebrated Marvel Comics into the “fold”. In the years before the 2008 launch of Marvel Studios, some of their characters were licensed out to several different studios. Sony still has Spidey, while Daredevil, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four were then at Fox. Dd was brought back in with the Netflix series (and a new Disney+ Maxi-series soon), and Deadpool & Wolverine will rule this July, all the while fans were clamoring for a “new take” on the “first family” of Marvel. Studio head Kevin Feige has teased it at a couple of Comicon appearances,...

The wait is finally over for Gun Interactive’s first batch of Dlc for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which sees the release of the game’s first cosmetic packs. That includes a new Leatherface outfit pack that features a new mask design by Greg Nicotero, a new saw design and sound, and a new universal kill that can be equipped to any Leatherface.
As Gun Interactive’s Wes Keltner explained previously, this new skin does not come with new abilities for Leatherface. Instead, it adds a new aesthetic to those who play as Leatherface. “It’s the same as the Pretty Woman or Old Lady skins for the base Lf. However, we did give this Lf a new saw with new recordings. It’s a deeper, growling saw that can be heard and identified immediately before you even see Lf.”
Meanwhile, there are six other cosmetic packs for players to choose from.

There’s been a cull at DC under studio boss James Gunn, but Gal Gadot’s warrior princess stands tall, and her previously cancelled second sequel is back on
There are scenes in the 2009 graphic novel Wolverine: Old Man Logan that have even the most hardened comic book fan crying into its pages. Red Skull wearing the gruesome armour of a long since demised Captain America; the defeated bodies of most of the X-Men; Ant-Man in Giant-Man mode sprawled out dead against an icy hellscape. It is an alternate version of comic-book reality in which there is a major superhero cull, and Marvel’s supervillains finally take eternal control of the Earth.
Something similar took place recently at Warner Bros-owned DC. Ever since head honcho James Gunn was handed the keys to the kingdom, there has been a sense that the old crew introduced by Zack Snyder – Henry Cavill’s Superman,...

Many fans can talk and argue if the Marvel Cinematic Universe is or isn’t what it used to be now compared to its Infinity Saga, but one thing that Marvel Studios always gets right is the casting. Say what you want, but every principal actor that joined the MCU so far has been a spot-on casting for the character they played, even in mixed or negative-reviewed MCU projects. Therefore it’s no wonder that the fans are eagerly waiting for the official reveal of the cast for ‘Fantastic Four,’ one of the upcoming MCU movies set in the franchise’s Phase 6.
The newest Fantastic Four movie has been officially announced by Marvel Studios in December 2020, with Jon Watts set to direct. However, the change of directors happened since then, as Watts abandoned the project and Matt Shakman abandoned directing the new ‘Star Trek’ movie to replace Watts. At 2022’s San Diego Comic-Con,...

It looked like the third Wonder Woman movie was no longer in DC's plan, but Gal Gadot says that's not true. Speaking to ComicBook.com in an interview published Aug. 2, Gadot, who played Wonder Woman in the first two films as well as other DC projects, said that she will be developing a third Wonder Woman film with new DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.
"I love portraying Wonder Woman. It's so close to and dear to my heart," she said. "From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a 'Wonder Woman 3' together."
"Wonder Woman 1984" was released in December 2020, and Variety reported at the time that a third film was in the works from director Patty Jenkins. However, in December 2022 - shortly after Safran and Gunn took over DC Studios - The Hollywood Reporter reported "Wonder Woman 3" would...

Greta Gerwig has broken the opening weekend record for a female director, solo or otherwise.
Her Barbie movie opened to a staggering $162 million at the North American box office over the July 21-23 weekend, a historic sum that easily surpasses the $103.3 domestic opening of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman. In 2019, Captain Marvel also broke the glass ceiling when debuting at $153 million. That movie was co-directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
Other stats: Barbie scored the top opening of the year to date, as well as one of the top openings since the pandemic, and it towered over Christopher Nolan’s male-skewing Oppenheimer this weekend. (Oppenheimer still did well in its own right for a three-hour historical drama in opening to $82.4 million).

As Barry returns, its title character (Bill Hader), still reeling from the events of the season three finale, finds himself screaming at his own reflection in a prison bathroom. A guard — who happens to have been a fan of Barry’s work in Laws of Humanity — catches him and tries to provide a bit of reassurance.
“I know they say you did a bad thing. But I’m sure you’re not a bad guy,” he offers. It’s a tempting idea, and one Barry’s clung to all series long as the bodies pile up behind him. This time, though, he rejects the idea so forcefully he’s beaten bloody by the initially sympathetic guard. For a moment, it almost seems he’s been able to see himself clearly for who he truly is, how much damage he’s truly left in his wake.
Of course, it doesn’t last.

Alas, the usually media-savvy Ben Affleck has dropped a clanger by revealing details about a certain key DC character cameo in Andy Muschietti’s upcoming The Flash.
Affleck, who is currently on a press tour to promote his film Air: Courting a Legend, appeared on the latest episode of Sean Hayes, Will Arnett and Jason Bateman’s SmartLess podcast. Affleck, while sharing his thoughts on playing Batman again, ventured into spoiler territory, telling the hosts about the nature of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman cameo, which The Hollywood Reporter previously reported would take place along with appearances from other members of Zack Snyder’s Justice League ensemble.
Despite seemingly recognizing mid-sentence that he may have revealed something he shouldn’t have, Affleck proceeded to give details of the scene that he and Gadot filmed.

Welp, the Dceu films have been rife with spoiler reveals lately. Before the release of Shazam: Fury of the Gods, perhaps in a gesture of desperation, the Warner Bros. marketing machine showcased a cameo reveal in an official TV spot that showed Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman make an appearance. This may have been an added attempt to marry Shazam into the DC universe more definitively as it has recently been reported that Dwayne Johnson had put the kibosh on crossovers between Black Adam and Shazam characters. And in an Instagram live video, Zachary Levi would reveal more cameos that appeared in Fury of the Gods when their originally planned cameos fell through. Levi would jokingly apologize for the spoilers, but shrug it off, “Whatever. It’s all out there.”

Junoshin Kake wanders into the domain of the Kurokaze clan and promptly kills a beggar who approaches him. He tells Shume Nagaoka a low-level official in the clan, that the man was a member of a dangerous religious cult that only he can save them from. That’s enough to create the opening he needs to find a permanent position in Lord Kuroae’s employ.
Kake plans to exploit the rivalry between two of the clan’s top retainers Shuzen Oura and Tatewaki Naito to rise through the ranks. The only problem is, the cult, The Bellyshaker Party no longer exists and Naito knows it.
