- Author Elmore Leonard ("Get Shorty", "Jackie Brown", "Out of Sight") saw the Stone Coyotes at the Troubadour in Los Angeles and was inspired to use the band in "Be Cool," the sequel to "Get Shorty." He included the lyrics to five of their songs and dedicated the book to them. After this, Leonard and the band made a short "Words and Music Tour", from New York's Mercury Lounge to L.A.'s Viper Room.
