Directed by Paul Ziller, Curious Caterer: Foiled Plans begins in the cozy setting of Sir Alistair’s beautiful castle, where Goldy and Marla are catering a fundraising night. The castle is filled with guests and stunning medieval decorations, setting the stage for Sir Alistair to make some big announcements. But just as he’s about to speak, he collapses to the floor, dead! Everyone is shocked. Could the murderer be among the guests? Adding to the chaos, conman Edmund Schultz has escaped from prison, and US Marshal Gerard Track is here to sniff him out. Did Schultz crash the party, or was he the killer? Also, there is another twist to the story: Edmund is actually the father of Tom, the main detective in the case, who was also at the party! With so many enemies of Sir Alistair, the case becomes incredibly complicated. But fear not, because what we...

We’ve all been told not to judge something by it’s cover. However, when you see a title like Metal Shifters, Camel Spiders, or Ice Quake, you should probably have an inkling that you’re about to watch a B movie. For the B-lovers out there, these three titles pack some ridiculous moments that are sure to entertain.
Metal Shifters:
Just when you thought there weren’t enough movies about Idaho, Paul Ziller brings B-movie lovers a little gem called Metal Shifters. Having enjoyed an array of farfetched Syfy movies, I can usually take any plot line with a grain of salt. However, with this film, I found myself pondering some simple, moral questions. My biggest quandary stems from the premise of the movie: if a strange, metal object plummeted from the sky, would your first thought be “I wonder how much I could sell that for?” Probably not.

The destruction is going to be biblical in this weekend’s Syfy original supernatural disaster movie The Terror Beneath when seeds from the Garden of Eden unleash apocalyptic foliage upon our modern world. And to think all these years we’ve been led to believe the apple was the source of man’s downfall.
Synopsis:
Militant environmentalists Kate and Joe witness, and videotape, the rapid growth of a gigantic root system that literally begins mowing through the country like an earthquake. At the same time, government agent Jack Taylor contacts plant expert Jocelyn Snow, who discovers that her ex-colleague, Frame Marcos, is the probable source of the ancient seed that started the whole ecological disaster. Under the growing threat of massive tsunamis should the enormous root system burrow under the ocean, Jack, Jocelyn, Joe and Kate confront Frame in his compound, then return to the place where it all began,...

Let's start with the writers this time.
Jane Espenson wrote an article about Torchwood for BBC.co.uk that provides some info about the creative process behind Miracle Day. You can read it here.
Mark Verheiden tweets that he is back in the Falling Skies writers' room. Caprica co-creator & new Fs showrunner Remi Aubuchon confirms that Verheiden will be on staff for season two as a consulting producer. (Yes, Remi Aubuchon has joined Twitter.)
Race Bending has a fantastic new interview with Carmen Moore. She talks about Blackstone, playing Fidelia in Caprica, how she got cast in Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome (she will likely be a regular if B&C gets picked up) and some of her other projects, both old (Andromeda) and more recent (Two Indians Talking).

Much to my disappointment, Ghost Storm is not a disaster-horror hybrid about a supernatural storm cloud that rains ghostly ectoplasm which steals the souls of everyone it touches. Or is it?
No, actually, it isn’t. But doesn’t that sound like a perfect pitch for a Syfy flick? As does the actual plot of Ghost Storm, and not surprisingly, since it happens to be a Syfy original movie currently in the works.
An action packed chase led by Hal and Ashley to save the people on this small island from a strange electrical storm which is led by angry souls from a mass suicide looking for revenge.
Electrical storm? Angry souls? Mass suicide? I hope the ending involves a meteorological exorcism involving the use of Kool-Aid because that would be… I shouldn’t be giving stuff like that away for free; gotta save it for my raining ectoplasm flick.

Director: Paul Ziller. Review: Adam Wing. I don’t know what scares me the most about Stonehenge Apocalypse - the fact that the line “A nuclear attack on Stonehenge will destroy the entire planet” is used, or the fact that I actually quite enjoyed it. On the most primitive of levels of course. I say primitive, I’m trying to remain respected here. I actually enjoyed it because it really wasn’t that bad a movie, note the word usage however - ‘really wasn’t that bad a movie’. At no point did I state that it was a good movie, ok? Director: Paul Ziller. Review: Adam Wing. I don’t know what scares me the most about Stonehenge Apocalypse - the fact that the line “A nuclear attack on Stonehenge will destroy the entire planet” is used, or the fact that I actually quite enjoyed it. Utter ludicrousness arrives in the form of “Stonehenge Apocalypse”, an opportunistic made for TV outing aiming to cash in on the semi success of the considerably flashier and more glamorous “2012”. Director Paul Ziller certainly has a great deal of experience in the low budget disaster movie arena, having helmed the likes of “Solar Strike”, “Polar Storm” and the excellently titled “Ice Quake”, not to mentioned a long list of cheap creature features including “Beyond Loch Ness”, “Snakehead Terror”, “Swarmed” and more. The film has a relatively recognisable cast made up of television stars, headlined by Misha Collins (“Supernatural”), with support from Hill Harper (“CSI: NY”), Torri Higginson (“Stargate: Atlantis”) and Peter Wingfield (“Highlander: The Source”). Coming with an all important behind the Scenes featurette and trailer, the film is out now on region 2 DVD thanks to Anchor Bay Entertainment. The film follows Collins as Jacob Glaser, a formerly respected and...

Stonehenge Apocalypse
Stars: Misha Collins, Hill Harper, Torri Higginson Peter Wingfield | Written by Paul Ziller, Brad Abraham | Directed by Paul Ziller
Whilst hosting his late night talk show, disgraced scientist and conspiracy theorist Dr. Jacob Glaser (Collins) is alerted to the news that the stones of Stonehenge have begun moving of their own accord. Believing that the anomaly is connected to a recent electromagnetic energy burst that spread from Maine to England, he travels to England in the hopes of proving his unfounded theory – that Stonehenge is actually part of an alien terraforming device that is currently modifying the planet for it’s new inhabitants! When scientists at the Stonehenge site discover a countdown clock hidden within the radio waves emanating from it becomes a race against time to prevent the forthcoming apocalypse.
Meanwhile across the globe Joseph Leshem (Harper), a former colleague of Dr. Glaser, has discovered a hidden...

As a movie title alone it’s a work of pure genius. What ends up on screen if you actually decide to watch it, could be a whole different kettle of fish. Director Paul Ziller presents to you - via Anchor Bay Entertainment - the sci-fi fantasy thriller Stonehenge Apocalypse is out on UK DVD next month. Watch the trailer at your peril. Saying that, we have seen worse. Maybe. Synopsis: An ancient prophecy comes to pass when archaeologists unearth an Egyptian chamber in Maine, sparking a devastating electromagnetic pulse that originates in Stonehenge and sends destructive shockwaves around the globe. When the Aztec pyramids crumble and the stones take on a life of their own, a renegade radio host, a team of scientists, and a team of British commandoes race to prevent the same force responsible for creating life on Earth from cleansing the planet in order to herald...

While this weekend brings us the world premiere of the cinematic epic Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, Syfy is already putting out promotional clips for their next offering for February, Iron Invader, which sees Earth invaded by a alien bacteria that not only fatally infects people, it also brings a giant ironworks statue to life to go on a rampage.
Alien bacteria arrives on a meteorite and infects metal, animating a giant iron statue that goes on a killing rampage in a small town. It's up to Kavan Smith ("Stargate: Atlantis", "The 4400"), Chris Gauthier ("Eureka", "Smallville"), Nicole DeBoer ("Haven", "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"), Paul McGillion ("Stargate: Atlantis", "Sanctuary") and Donnelly Rhodes ("Battlestar Galactica", "Charles in Charge") to save the world.
If there's one thing that cast proves, it's that if you've ever starred in a Syfy original series, then you pretty much look to have a job for life appearing in Syfy original movies.

Brendan Fehr discusses Roswell, Nikita and Ice Quake, which airs tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Central on Syfy.
Q:Could you talk about the stunts in IceQuake?
Brendan:Yeah. I guess the majority of the stunts would probably simply be thesnowmobiling.
Wedidn’t exactly know how much snow was going to be out there at that time ofyear they had to shut down the mountain for the sky season eventually and wepicked up right when it shut off. And while we were filming we got heaps andheaps of snow, which obviously added to the look of the movie and everythingelse.
Sowe were pretty straightforward. You have a lot of the guys there obviouslybeing up in Canada and on a mountain, I mean, snowmobiling kind of comes secondnature. So… there’s only so much damage you can do, I mean, if you fall overbecause we had...

We learned on June 21st, that an ancient prophecy has been revealed…The discovery of an Egyptian chamber beneath the coast of Maine triggers a deadly electromagnetic occurrence at Stonehenge, followed by explosive devastation at the Aztec pyramids. Something within the centuries-old stones has come alive, and a series of terrifying global catastrophes is about to be unleashed, perhaps signifying the apocalypse. Now a team of international scientists, a UK commando unit, and a conspiracy-obsessed American radio host must find a way to stop the cataclysmic power that created life on this planet before it can be reborn to destroy us all.
For centuries, Stonehenge has stood as a silent shrine to Man’s ancient history. Nobody knows for sure why it was built, or for what purpose. In the 21st century, the enigmatic monument may be the harbinger of the extinction of the entire human race! Anchor Bay Entertainment...

With "Heroes" history, that means cast members are going to be looking for work. The good news for anyone who has ever appeared on a popular genre program is that you can always count on getting work in a Syfy original movie. Next year former flying hero Adrian Pasdar will have to deal with a more earthbound horror when he enters Syfy's Garden of Evil.
So what terror awaits Pasdar in this garden of evil? It's actually an ecological disaster flick, but the disaster is being caused by monstrous plants unleashed from ancient times.

The only people who like destroying the world more than Roland Emmerich are the movie execs at Syfy, and they're always coming up with new and more preposterous ways of wreaking havoc on humanity. Syfy's latest source for our doom hails from the English countryside in the form of a Stonehenge Apocalypse, and you can witness the beginning of our demise in a new clip from the film debuting this weekend.
When a group of archaeologists dig up a human skeleton near the historical monument of Stonehenge, an ancient piece of machinery hidden beneath the bedrock is discovered. Not knowing what it could be, the workers accidentally trigger the mechanism and start a chain of events that may very well end the world as we know it.

June is going to be a busy month for DVD releases. We're going to get supernatural horrors, Italian shockers, and Sci-Fi Channel schlockers; not to mention one hell of an Asylum mocker. Here's a taste of things to come.
What better place to begin than with Lionsgate's June 16th release of Richard Friedman's Born. Starring Joan Severence, Denise Crosby, and Kane Hodder, it's another one of those demon baby in the womb horror flicks. This time out a virginal 21-year old (Alison Brie) wakes up impregnated by a demon (Hodder, of course); the demonic baby eventually overtakes her mind and sends her on a killing spree. I've come across some reviews of Born online, and let's just say most would have preferred this film to be retitled Abort. Only the best from Lionsgate.

Directly before Yeti’s premiere on the Sci Fi Channel (ahead of its DVD release from Genius Products January 13), the network had a back-to-back airing of Ryan Schifrin’s Abominable and Tibor Takacs’ Ice Spiders. First, I got my Bigfoot fix, followed by my monsters at a ski resort. By the time they wrapped up, I was primed to enter Yeti territory. Personally, I couldn’t think of a better introduction to this gleefully over-the-top little flick than prefacing it with those two equally hammy gems.
In Yeti, we’ve got an American college football team headed to Japan aboard their private jet, which just happens to give out over the Himalayas (apparently they got a discount by flying all the way around the entire world, rather than just over the Pacific). Huddled together in the blistering cold, the surviving kids find themselves stalked by the legendary Yeti, an enormous...

Jeremy London and Dina Meyer are each starring in an original movie in production at Sci Fi Channel, which also has greenlighted an international spinoff of its reality series Ghost Hunters.
London (7th Heaven), Stefanie von Pfetten (Dragon Boys) and Lexa Doig (Stargate SG-1) are starring in Ba'al, about a rogue Smithsonian archaeologist, dying of cancer, who will stop at nothing to retrieve the ancient amulets of the storm god Ba'al, which could cure him or make him a god.
The film is being directed by Paul Ziller (Swarmed) and produced by CineTel Films.
Meanwhile, Riddles of the Sphinx stars Meyer (the "Saw" franchise) and Lochlyn Munro (Deck the Halls) in a story about a father and daughter who find themselves in a series of battles of mind and body with the deadly Sphinx as they attempt to decode seven riddles in an effort to save humankind.
The movie is being directed by George Mendeluk (Her Fatal Flaw) and produced by Plinyminor.
Both movies are shooting in and around Vancouver and will air as part of Sci Fi's Saturday night lineup late next year.
