While it manages to be entertaining, Safe Haven follows the Nicholas Sparks' established blueprint too closely and fails to truly make the characters matter. Thankfully, the film is in the very capable hands of director Lasse Hallström and benefits from the likeable chemistry of its leads Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel. It is not a bad movie, but it could have been better given the amount of talent involved. A new clip of Safe Haven has been released.
The film is an adaption of the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name.
As shared by Us Weekly, the clip shows stars Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel playing in the sand.
In the film, Hough plays Katie, a mysterious woman who relocates to Southport, North Carolina - for what she describes in the trailer - as an "empty canvas".
Duhamel plays widower Alex, with whom Katie falls in love.
Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) and Irene Ziegler (Premonition) also star.
Safe Haven is released in the Us on February 14, and in the UK on March 1.
