- Bernadette Yao was born on May 15, 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She is a writer and actress, known for Living Language Series English for New Americans: Health and Safety (1999), FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman (2006) and Zoom (1972).
- Having no dance or performance she could do for her beginning intro on Zoom, thirteen-year-old Bernadette did her arm twisting, which looked like she would be criss-crossing her arms, but then quickly pulled them apart. This still stands as the single most identifiable trademark of any of the individual Zoomers from the seventies show.
- Has two daughters, born 1992 and 1997.
- Presently a 3rd year student at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. She will graduate in June 2005 and begin her private practice as an energy healer. In addition, she is currently writing music for her first CD.
- Bernadette has sung with the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Tanglewood Festival Chorus and has produced and hosted TV programs
