Wednesday’s jam-packed finale starts with Tiffany who’s about to be executed in prison. Looks like all of Tiff’s voodoo finally paid off in a major way.

After a long string of tournaments, Jeopardy! returned to regular play this week with new contestants, but one of the players on Thursday’s (April 11) episode wasn’t quite a stranger when it came to TV game shows. Thursday’s game saw Alison Betts, a writer and creative executive originally from San Jose, California, taking on Brian Hardzinski, a public radio producer originally from Flower Mound, Texas, and Lee Wilkins, a regulatory affairs coordinator from Auburn, Alabama. Wilkins had unseated three-day champion Lucas Patridge on Wednesday but was unable to get out of the blocks in this episode. Instead, Betts and Hardzinksi dominated. The pair went back and forth throughout the game, with Betts leading by just $600 going into Final Jeopardy. Heading into the final round, Betts stood at $14,600, Hardzinksi followed closely behind with $14,000, and Wilkins trailed with $3,200. The final clue under the category “Space Shuttles” read, “2 space shuttles were...

Lucas Partridge might have been hoping to extend his record-breaking* stint as Jeopardy!‘s reigning champion, but alas, his first night back after the onslaught of tournaments ended in a loss for him. Wednesday’s episode of Jeopardy!, which was the first regular show after the Invitational Tournament ended on Tuesday, saw Partridge, a school counselor from Las Vegas, joined by newcomers Daniel Rosenberg, a lawyer from New York, and Lee Wilkins, a regulatory affairs coordinator from Alabama. The first round went well enough for Partridge. He got 12 answers correct, versus five incorrect. and netted $3,600. Rosenberg was forging right ahead of him, though, with nine correct answers and just one incorrect, earning $4,600. Wilkins, who got just three correct and two incorrect, ended the first half with $0. ...

Meshell Ndegeocello is spearheading the next installment in the ongoing Sun Ra tribute series, Red Hot + Ra, with the LP Red Hot & Ra: The Magic City, out April 12.
The LP isn’t a traditional “tribute” album filled with covers. Rather, Ndegeocello and her numerous collaborators honored Sun Ra with totally new compositions that used the intergalactic jazz giant’s ideas, words, and melodies.
The first offering from the album, “#9 Venus the Living Myth,” incorporates elements from Sun Ra’s “Rocket Number 9” and “The Living Myth” and features a saxophone duet...

Update, Wednesday: The White House released a video of Joe Biden and actor Chris Evans, in which the president presents the Captain America star with a pair of his trademark aviators. The gesture was met with an enthusiastic, “I love it!” from Evans.
“What you’re doing with the kids matters, so thanks for doing this,” Biden said, as Evans was appearing at an event to boost civic engagement. Biden also said, “I’m a fan.”
Chris, thanks for everything you're doing to get young folks engaged in government and public service.

Michael Sheen and David Tennant in ‘Good Omens’ season 2 (Photo Credit: Mark Mainz/Prime Video)
Michael Sheen is back as angel/rare-book dealer Aziraphale and David Tennant returns as the demon Crowley for a third – and final – season of Prime Video’s incredibly engaging series Good Omens. Filming is expected to get underway soon in Scotland, with author Neil Gaiman back as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
“I’m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006,” said Gaiman. “Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end. Season One was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World. Season Two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped. Now in Season Three,...

Witnessing historical moments come to life on the silver screen has always been an extraordinary experience. The concluding moments of Rustin successfully capture that essence by recreating those iconic moments of 1963’s March on Washington. Directed by George C. Wolfe, Rustin is a biographical drama based on an important figure in the American civil rights movement named Bayard Rustin. When mentioning human rights, non-violent movements, and freedom in history, we often mention the names of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, but we tend to overlook the significance of Bayard Rustin; without him, such path-breaking historical events as the March on Washington might not have been possible.

Soberly relevant in light of the current Israel-Hamas conflict, filmmaker Michael Winterbottom takes us back to the pre-1948 establishment of the state of Israel and early rise of Zionist activism, as told through a love story between a Jew and a Brit. Shoshana is an ambitious project as it weaves action sequences with socio-political ideas of the era with some degree of success – greatly helped by its protagonists’ professions that allow greater insight into the region’s developing unrest.
Set in 1930s’ cosmopolitan Tel Aviv, Shoshana (Irina Starshenbaum) casually meets Englishman Thomas Wilkins (Douglas Booth) at a party, who is assigned to the Palestinian police force, and they begin an affair. Their union is doomed from the beginning as work and social alliances threaten journalist Shoshana’s wellbeing, while Wilkins investigates escalating violence against Arabs from various Zionist militant factions and puts himself in danger’s path.

It just goes to show how one movement will always be followed by another. No matter how integral Bayard Rustin (Colman Domingo) proved to advancing Civil Rights agendas that helped put an end to segregation, he was seen as more liability than necessity to those in power because of his sexuality. And when you’re dealing with men like Representative Adam Clayton Powell (Jeffrey Wright), he could also be labeled a threat. Because there’s allyship and there’s self-promotion. There’s making incremental change while profiting for the trouble and there’s giving everything you have. Rustin was the latter and his success inevitably risked the former’s money.
Showing us this dynamic at the start of George C. Wolfe’s Rustin is thus crucial to understanding the politics of the story beyond the politics of the world in which it resides. Julian Breece (also credited with the story...

“If you’re going to burn it down, you should have told us!” laughs Good Omens set decorator Bronwyn Franklin, explaining why the set for Aziraphale’s bookshop is, by her estimation, “five to 10 per cent” different this time around.
“We never realised it’d be a second series, because it was one book, one Good Omens series. And then everyone loved it so much that Amazon said we really want another.” The surprise series renewal meant redressing the bookshop set from scratch, after it was burned down by an errant candle at the end of season one, episode four. (Hence Aziraphale’s preference for electric candles in the second run.)
Is that particular set still standing by the end of season two? “It’s all still here,” confirms Franklin. “It doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ll ever make anything again,” she says as a caveat, but this time around at least,...

Emmy-nominated re-recording mixers John W. Cook II and Ben Wilkins layered in 16 different tracks of recording for a key courtroom moment in Starz’s “Gaslit.”
The political thriller takes a different look at the Watergate scandal. Rather than look at the infamous hotel break-in, the show examines the political relationships and the women — particularly Martha Mitchell, played by Julia Roberts.
It also looks at John Dean, President Nixon’s White House counsel (played by Dan Stevens), and his wife Maureen “Mo” Dean (Betty Gilpin).
In a key moment, John Dean is set to testify before the Senate committee.
The scene before shows John almost chickening out of his testimony. It’s a moment with Mo and the two are sitting outside an office. “He wants to give up and Mo says, ‘You are absolutely not going to give up. You think this is hard? This is not hard.’ Cook explains...

A thought experiment: I chant “Der-ek Je-ter!” You say?
If your answer is a Pavlovian series of five claps — “Clap Clap Clapclapclap,” if you will — then chances are good that you’re the target demographic for ESPN’s new seven-part documentary series The Captain.
If your response is a dead-eyed stare, “Yankees suck!” or perhaps something even more profane, The Captain is easily skippable.
Yankees legend Derek Jeter built a career on steady play on the field and inscrutable blandness off of it, and he mostly doesn’t stray from his established brand here. It takes absolutely nothing away from Jeter’s indisputable greatness on the diamond to say that he’s a borderline inert interview or at least to say that over the five hours sent to critics, whatever wall he put up to survive decades in the New York City media spotlight remains in place.

Randy Wilkins connects with Derek Jeter, subject of his seven-part ESPN documentary series, The Captain, on a few levels.
For starters, Wilkins is a lifelong New York Yankees fan, and Jeter was the linchpin of five World Series championships captured by the team between 1996 and 2009. In his filmmaking career, Wilkins also can relate. While he wasn’t a teen-ager like Jeter when he got his big break, getting the chance to tell the story of his hero resulted from a surprise endorsement from Spike Lee, who is an executive producer of the series.
“In June 2020, he called me to check up on me,” Wilkins recalled in an interview. “He asked me who my favorite Yankee was, just out of the blue. I said, ‘Well, Derek Jeter.’ I was very confused as to why he was asking me that. And the next thing he said was, ‘Derek Jeter wants to do...
