Exclusive: Hayley Mills, still fondly remembered for Disney classics Pollyanna and The Parent Trap, is checking into The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel to take it on the road in the UK and then to London’s West End.
Strictly speaking, it’s a play based on the book (Deborah Moggach’s These Foolish Things) that spawned successful movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in 2011 and it’s 2015 sequel The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Both pictures, starring Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy, did immensely well at the box office.
The screenplays for the films, directed by John Madden, were written by Ol Parker. However for the stage, Moggach has adapted her own tome about seven British retirees who depart the Home Counties of England to see out the sunset of their years at what they’re led to believe is a luxurious hotel in Bangalore, India.

Boomers will be back on BBC One for a second series.
The comedy is returning for six new episodes in early 2016, starring Russ Abbot, Stephanie Beacham, Philip Jackson, James Smith, Alison Steadman and Paula Wilcox.
Following the ups and downs of three couples living in Thurnemouth, the new run will see the characters dealing with sexual experimentation, drug abuse and camping trips.
"The new series pushes our merry band of retirees into evermore agonising and ridiculous situations whilst crackling with sharply observed dialogue," said BBC comedy commissioning controller Shane Allen.
"It's a privilege to see these well-loved and hugely accomplished performers in full flow with such richly comic material."
Producer Paul Schlesinger added: "It's great to welcome back this particular group of friends and to see their jealousies, general resentment and disappointment with life come off the page even more vividly than series one - all brought to life by a stellar comedy cast.

Mount Pleasant has quietly gone about its business since launching on Sky1 in 2011, and it returns on the channel for a fifth series tonight (September 11) after three years on Sky Living.
Neil Fitzmaurice - perhaps best known for the dastardly Jeff in Peep Show and his Phoenix Nights work with Peter Kay - is also back as office manager Fergus, and he told Digital Spy that he is impressed by its continued popularity.
"Like anything on TV, it's a business, and if you put a show on and it does okay and sort of trundles along, maybe you'll get two series out of it," he said. "The special thing about Mount Pleasant is that it just steadily got bigger and bigger every year. That's not something that happens all the time.
"The fans have been fanatical since day one, and they have been joined by fans who have steadily watched...
