Award-winning cinematographer, Arthur West, is a South African D.O.P who has been in the film industry for over 35 years. He has been the Director of Photography for many outstanding South African miniseries, including Daisy de Melker, Death in the Family, Hill of Fools, Africa P.I, Living the Blues, Haggenheim, The Syndicate, and the highly acclaimed, award-winning drama Konings.
A veteran of the drama genre, he has also worked on foreign projects, such as The Adventures of Sinbad and Origins. Further to this, he has also operated on studio sitcoms, such as Small Talk, Fear Factor, Fishy Fashions, Stokvel, S.O.S, Madam & Eve and Montana.
Arthur has brought home many trophies in his career, including two Artes Awards, two Visible Spectrum Awards and a Vuka Award for his exceptional work.
After graduating from film school at the top of his class in 1979, Arthur began his apprenticeship, and worked for the South African Broadcasting Commission (SABC) for ten years before travelling and shooting on a project basis.
