Angelina Jolie met with fellow Goodwill Ambassador Jesús Vázquez in Spain earlier today to honor the 60th anniversary of the Unhcr. She expressed her thanks and support of the worldwide organization in a short statement, saying, "In the week of Unhcr's anniversary, I would like to highlight the strength and courage of the world's refugees and forcibly displaced people who are, for all of us, an example of generosity and dignity . . . My thoughts go also to the dedicated Unhcr staff, who for many years have risked their lives to protect the lives of refugees." Her trip to Madrid was both for philanthropic reasons and work with last night's Madrid premiere of The Tourist.
