- Abbate Varesco was born in November 1735 in Trento, Italy. Abbate was a writer, known for The Metropolitan Opera Presents (1977), Idomeneo, re di Creta (2005) and Idomeneo (1983). Abbate died on August 25, 1805 in Salzburg, Austria.
- Italian poet and musician, in 1766 appointed chaplain to the Archbishop of Salzburg, serving also in the archbishop's orchestra. He collaborated successfully with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Varesco died in poverty in Salzburg.
