With Christmas 1970 on the horizon, the UK’s thrilling new sci-fi TV show UFO was well underway. Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's first live-action series, it was set in the future and revolved around the activities of the Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organisation (Shado), a covert agency presided over by Commander Ed Straker (Ed Bishop) to fend off alien attacks on mankind. As a wide-eyed 8-year-old I was hooked and I can recall wishing two things. One was that I could have one of the Dinky Toys’ missile-firing Shado Interceptors, which I thought then (and still think now) was the coolest among the incredible array of vehicles that appeared in the show; I’d not be nearly as forgiving today as I was back then that Dinky had manufactured it in garish green, where the ‘real’ ones on TV were white. The other wish was that I...

One of the more intriguing documentaries to hit theaters this year is U.N. Me, Ami Horowitz‘s critique of the United Nations for their failures in protecting international human rights. The film follows Horowitz’s journey around the world as he interweaves interviews with politicians, peacekeepers and civilians and archival footage to show Un abuses of power, such as peacekeepers shooting on unarmed civilians and partying with brothel women instead of patrolling the frontlines of a brewing civil conflict. I was fortunate enough to sit down and interview Horowitz to discuss how he became interested in the project, the message he wishes viewers to take from the film and whether or not he believes there’s any hope for the United Nations.

Full disclosure: I've never watched an episode of "Law & Order" in my entire life. Not one. And frankly I never had any plans to. That is until... John Stamos guest-starred! That's right -- there's no way your resident expert on all things Stamos, aka me, the other Stamos, was going to miss one of Uncle Jesse's primetime TV appearances. And what an appearance it was! Due to the graphic nature of the episode (is "Law & Order: Svu" always this twisted?) this isn't going to be a "Stamos on Stamos" on par with the reviews of John as Dr. Carl on "Glee," but let's take a look at how he fared showing his serious side.
The episode was pretty Stamos-heavy, and from the get-go the former Uncle Jesse showed his sleazy side as a "reproductive abuser" -- a guy who's obsessed with impregnating women (blech!

John Stamos even makes being bad look good. As Ken Turner on 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' (Wed., 10Pm Et on NBC), Stamos got to put those good looks of his to use over and over again.
While there are many women who would love to imagine having children with Stamos, they might not have liked as much what happened with Ken. The detectives even tried to embarrass him into breaking down by bringing in 20 of his children together from the New York area.

After a few weeks' hiatus, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit finally returns with new episodes tonight, with John Stamos making a guest appearance.
In tonight's episode of Svu, an abandoned baby is found on a playground. Detectives Benson and Stabler try to track down the baby's parents or guardians. They're eventually led to the baby's nanny and her boyfriend, Ken Turner (played by Stamos). But there's a twist: it turns out that Ken is also engaged to the[...]...

It was twenty years ago that the public was introduced to the modern-day fairy tale Edward Scissorhands. Though the story of an outcast or “freak” misunderstood by “normal” society is nothing new, this brilliantly designed film with the sweetness and sadness of romantic love coupled with Gothic overtones resonated deeply with audiences and injected beauty and enchantment into the familiar.

What happens when you're a devotee of eccentric filmmaker Tim Burton and grow up living a life much like the director's own? You come up with a charming 6-minute short called TiM. Here's filmmaker Ken Turner with a little background on both himself and his short: "TiM is about the things that happened to me growing up...Its about the feelings that i had as an outsider...its the isolation and alienation of a child and how he is comforted in art and films...The story is very...
