Production is underway for the much-anticipated reboot of one of Colombia’s biggest telenovela hits, “Newly Rich, Newly Poor”.
It’s been more than 15 years since the original Caracol TV show took the world by storm, selling to more than 100 territories and spawning remakes in Mexico, Greece and Serbia. Locally, the telenovela, which ran from July 2007 to August 2008, boasted an average 42.7% share and a 12.9% rating at its peak in 2007.
“The tale of two guys swapped at birth, navigating borrowed lives, gets a modern twist with fresh humor, drama, and plenty of surprises. It’s a Colombian TV classic revamped for today, ready to stir up new feelings and introduce some lovable characters,” said its writer-creator Jörg Hiller.

Chicago – The 35th edition of the Chicago Latino Film Festival (Clff) is coming to a close, and their final night film is “El Reality” on April 11th, 2019, at the AMC River East 21 in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood. Icaza launches Mexico post shop
GUADALAJARA, Mexico -- Emmy nominee Miguel Icaza has launched Lupe Post in Mexico City, a state-of-the-art postproduction studio associated with Technicolor Montreal.
Icaza and Luis Furtado, account manager of the U.S. and Latin America at Technicolor Montreal, said Lupe Post will offer one-stop-shop services for film and television production. So far, more than $4 million has been injected into the upstart studio.
Icaza said the studio will provide everything from camera rentals and lighting equipment to special effects service and color correction using a Christie 2K digital projector, the first of its kind here in Mexico.
The first film project lined up is "Linea de Fuego", the latest feature from Colombian director Rodrigo Triana.
Lupe Post will be operated exclusively by filmmakers.
"The concept of the studio is filmmakers working for filmmakers," Icaza said.
Icaza garnered an Emmy nomination for his work as director of photography on "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles."
Technicolor Montreal will collaborate with wet lab services, including digital intermediate and printing capabilities.
