- She met 'Meyer Levin' in 1947 and worked with him on a documentary . She married him in 1948 and wrote 15 novels and essays and a book about her husband's obsession with Anne Frank's Journal :'Les Maisons Hantées de Meyer Levin'.
- Born in Paris to Polis Jewish artists Marek Szwarc and Guina Pinkus ,who had converted a year before her birth to catholicism, she received a catholic education . Horrified by France's defeat in 1940, she went to London and became a member of the Free French women's volunteers ¨Corps féminin des volontaires françaises". She wrote her memoirs about that period Une Française libre". She married in 1944 Henry Torrès, stepson of 'Léon Blum' who died fighting a few months later.
