The world’s biggest streaming platform keeps expanding its endless collection of movies and shows, but every so often not the whole world gets to see some of the most exciting arrivals.
Netflix’s strategy of dropping more content for specific countries still remains a mystery, and it just got bigger as the streaming made a gift for its British version by giving it a highly-anticipated sci-fi movie.
Titled Nope which originally stands for “Not of Planet Earth,” Jordan Peele’s 2022 Neo-Western horror is set to blow everyone away once again.
Starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, Nope follows siblings Oj and Emerald Haywood who inherit their family ranch in California after their father is killed by some random objects falling from the sky.
As the supernatural mystery doesn’t seem to go away after the family patriarch’s death, Oj and Emerald embark on their own investigation trying to...

“Nope” standout Brandon Perea is going from surveying one (alien) storm system to chasing another — with the actor signing on to star in the upcoming “Twister” sequel.
Perea joins Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos in “Twisters,” directed by “Minari” helmer Lee Isaac Chung from a script by “The Revenant” writer Mark L. Smith.
The film, from Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. and Amblin Entertainment, is described as a “new chapter” of the 1996 movie, which followed a team of storm chasers as they hunted down the most powerful tornado in decades. Plot details, including Perea’s role, are being kept under wraps.
“Twisters” is slated for release on July 19, 2024.
The original “Twister” was a massive hit, earning more than $494 million at the worldwide box office, which is often credited to the film’s ground-breaking special effects. Starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, the film was helmed by “Speed” director Jan De Bont...

Not much is known about the future "phases" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but all eyes are already fixed on the conclusion to what has been dubbed The Multiverse Saga. While Phase 4 was hit or miss for a lot of fans, the promise of a new crop of heroes (and villains) is enough to keep hype going for Phase 5 and 6. Jaws around the world dropped when Marvel president Kevin Feige announced the two Avengers films that would wrap up this new saga. "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" and "Avengers: Secret Wars" are both slated to release in 2025. Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conquerer will obviously serve as the big bad behind "The Kang Dynasty," but "Secret Wars" is less certain.
Whether it's based on the 1984 comic of the same name or its 2015 remake, "Secret Wars" will undoubtedly be an event of epic, "Endgame"-level proportions. The first comic storyline brought its heroes...

(Welcome to Scariest Scene Ever, a column dedicated to the most pulse-pounding moments in horror with your tour guides, horror experts Chris Evangelista and Matt Donato. In this edition, Matt wants to nope out of "Nope").
Spoilers for "Nope" follow.
Jordan Peele has broken the 100 million domestic threshold on three straight releases — his first three directorial features — to the tune of box office dependency. His latest, "Nope," does a splendid job representing why. "Nope" doesn't stifle Peele's expressive freedoms when telling horror tales about representation, nor does it skimp on said horrors. Peele's brand of filmmaking through "Get Out," "Us," and "Nope" keeps event-based horror alive as studios continue to slash genre budgets, which audiences reward with their attention and wallets. He's no imposter alongside contemporary horror masters like James Wan or Scott Derrickson.
Although, "Nope" is decidedly Peele's least horrifying offer. His blend of western science fiction is more about predatorial unknowns,...

Nope produces everything I love about the summer movie season. A tense, funny, entertaining spectacle that cries out to be seen on the biggest screen possible. When the film’s August release date was announced I was curious why a Jordan Peele film didn’t get an October release date, to capitalise on the Halloween season. After seeing Nope it became crystal clear that unlike his last two films, Get Out and Us, Nope portrays Peele’s ability to not only entertain us but can make us have fun right alongside the scares.
Nope feels like a throwback in so many ways, and in so many more Peele has found a way to bring a Spielberg summer blockbuster from the 70s into the modern world. Not only does the film entertain, but has...
