Stage director; active on Broadway from 1896-1916. Teal was a favored
in-house director for the Theatrical Syndicate (one of the principals
was theatrical giant
Charles Frohman), that was finally broken after Frohman's
death by the Shuberts. Teal possessed a volatile personality and was
far less liked by his casts and crews.
