As someone who always prefers watching films/shows with closed captioning, the subtitles for "Stranger Things" season 4 stood out to me from the get-go, as this season made some, um, distinct choices when describing the shifting tones of the show. With America largely kicking its smoking habit, the tobacco industry has been forced to make up the revenues abroad, leading to court battles in countries like Australia, Uruguay and Togo, one of the 10 poorest nations in the world.

Sherri Shepherd says at least one person found her portrayal of the evil stepmother in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway a little too believable: her 9-year-old son Jeffrey.
"Jeffrey was scared of me," the former View co-host, 47, told People Tuesday at the #NYTough Comedy Showcase at Caroline's on Broadway. "He didn't like me playing the evil stepmom. He'd rather I were playing Cinderella."
Shepherd, who is currently embroiled in a messy custody situation with her estranged husband Lamar Sally over the baby their surrogate delivered in August, successfully fought her ex-husband Jeff Tarpley to retain custody of Jeffrey earlier this year.

There’s reason to celebrate today as Sherri Shepherd walked away a winner in her latest legal battle with ex-husband Jeff Tarpley. The former “View” host was granted primary custody of their 9-year-old son, Jeffery this week.
Tarpley filed for custody on April 2 claiming that Sherri neglected their son by making "poor parenting choices and [refusing] to provide for our child's immediate needs."
In addition, Jeff said that Sherri’s work schedule was too demainding, causing the TV personality to neglect their child.
The judge ruled against his requesting and said, "there has not been a material change in circumstances" that needed a change in the child’s custody.
Shepard celebrated her victory and tweeted, "God is good! Victory!!! The prayers of the righteous availeth much!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers! #tearfulmama.’and’ Keep the prayers coming...Still got more battles— please judge me by...

Sherri can’t wait to marry the love of her life. She says Sal is ‘the one for me’ — but the man walking her down the aisle is pretty important too!
On Dec. 26, The View co-host Sherri Shepherd got engaged to TV writer Lamar “Sal” Sally and now the happy couple is deep in the midst of planning their Chicago wedding in August of 2011. “Jeffrey, my 6-year-old son, is going to walk me down the aisle,” Sherri tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively (at Betty White’s 89th birthday bash at Le Cirque in NYC on Jan. 16). Awww!
But before Jeffrey can walk his mom down the aisle, Sherri, 43, has a lot to do and plan. First on the list? A wedding dress. “They want to know my size,” Sherri says. “I kept saying I’m a size 4, but I have to give them the real double digits size, which sucks.”

Sherri Shepherd -- 'The View' Is Not a Heavy Workload
Sherri Shepherd might have the cushiest gig in America -- 'cause according to legal docs she just filed, Sherri only has to work 16 hours a week on "The View" ... and makes some serious bank!
Shepherd just filed an income declaration in her ongoing divorce from husband Jeff Tarpley ... and in the docs, Sherri lists that she takes home $54,767 a month ... and says she only works 16 hours a week -- that works out to about $855 per hour!
Sounds like a sweet deal ... 'til you remember she has to sit next to Elisabeth Hasselbeck the whole time.

New development in a divorce trial between co-host of "The View" Sherri Shepherd and her comedian ex-husband Jeff Tarpley has emerged. During a hearing in a Los Angeles court on Friday, July 16, Shepherd claimed she found pictures of Tarpley having sex with someone.
According to TMZ, Shepherd learned about the devastating images when her son, who was still newly born at that time, was in the ICU. Shepherd detailed that one day upon returning home from the intensive care unit, she found photos of Tarpley having sex with a random woman, whom he later impregnated.
Shortly after acknowledging the racy pictures in 2006, Shepherd filed for divorce. The 43-year-old actress/host was officially divorced from Tarpley three years after her divorce plea. She and Tarpley attended the court to divide leftover assets and iron out child support details.
Despite the bad experience, Shepherd insisted the nasty divorce would not make her afraid of another marriage.

It must be tough to have an ex-wife on a television talk show every day, discussing not only every day news events, but also her current and past personal life. Well, Jeff Tarpley, the ex-husband of "The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd, has had enough.
Tarpley is speaking exclusively to "Inside Edition," telling the entertainment show that he is tired of being the punch line of her jokes on the show. While Shepherd says she portrays him in a "good light on my show," Tarpley is pleading with her to stop using their divorce as comic material.
Tarpley tells Ie, "I'm hoping, and I'm stating it publicly, that I would like her to stop and move on."
The couple split around five years ago and definitely had a rocky marriage, with Tarpley having another child with another woman while he was still married to Shepherd. Tarpley goes on to say, "I'm...
