In the 13 years since “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” debuted, Kim Kardashian West has parlayed her reality TV career into successful beauty and shapewear businesses, served as a spokesperson for several charities and causes, blown up into a social media influencer with 164 million Instagram followers, and become a mother four times over. To say people are fascinated by her is an understatement: Her every move is dissected in the tabloids and used to feed the same 24-hour news cycle her late father, defense attorney Robert Kardashian, was a part of when it launched during the O.J. Simpson trial.
It’s her father’s sense of justice that Kardashian West has invoked in recent years, ever since she came upon the now-famous story of Alice Johnson — a grandmother who was serving life without parole on a non-violent drug charge. The self-made millionaire used her space in that news cycle to share...

The reality star's turn to activism is documented in a two-hour documentary for Oxygen, Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project, premiering April 5.

Kim Kardashian West has a very un-“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” new unscripted TV project. In Oxygen’s two-hour documentary, “The Justice Project,” Kim K. attempts to rectify some of the most overblown prison sentences in America today.
After hearing the story of Alice Marie Johnson, a great-grandmother sentenced to life in prison as a first-time nonviolent offender, Kardashian West embarked on a road to advocacy as she campaigned for criminal justice reform and helped convince the White House to grant Alice clemency in June 2018, Oxygen’s description reads. This doc follows Kardashian West, as she lends a hand to right injustices and advocate for change by exploring the cases of Dawn Jackson, Alexis Martin, Momolu Stewart and David Sheppard, all of whom she and the legal experts she is working alongside believe have been unfairly sentenced.
“The Justice Project” follows the origins of their individual stories, revealing the...
