Twisted Sister wrapped up a farewell tour in late 2016 with no intent of hitting the road again. But with significant offers coming in, frontman Dee Snider and company appear to be reversing course.
In a new interview with The Hook Rocks! podcast, Snider offered an update on the status of the band, who did reunite for a one-off performance in 2023 for Twisted Sister’s induction to the Metal Hall of Fame. At the time, Snider was somewhat adamant about only reuniting for special occasions… but the money might sway him and his bandmates otherwise.
“As a result of all the bands retiring and dying, the offers get bigger and bigger for the holdouts to come back,” Snider explained (as transcribed by Blabbermouth). “At some point, you’ve gotta say, ‘Well, how can I say no to that?'”
On a full-blown reunion tour, Dee continued: “Is it there yet? No.

Prime Video’s “Ricky Stanicky,” the latest comedy from director Peter Farrelly, is filled with outrageous moments revolving around John Cena as Rod, a down-on-his-luck performer hired by a group of friends to pose as their nonexistent pal. The undeniable highlights, however, are the moments in which we see the Atlantic City lounge act for which Rod dresses as iconic performers, from Peter Frampton and Britney Spears to Billy Idol and Boy George. The musical numbers walk a fine line, presenting Cena with costumes that immediately summon up associations with their sources while remaining just a bit off in order to show that Rod is not exactly one of Atlantic City’s top acts.
Cena credits the costume and hair and makeup departments with creating a wide variety of hilarious looks — and doing it on a ridiculously compressed schedule. “Not only did they transform me to look like Dee Snider,...

As my 13-year-old son and I browsed a Buffalo, NY, record shop on a recent Saturday morning, his eyes were drawn to two action figures dangling from the wall. Both were from the popular ReAction toy line, known for its delightfully offbeat takes on pop-culture icons as diverse as Joe Strummer, Megan Rapinoe, Jimi Hendrix, the Creature From the Black Lagoon, and late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton. The two figures my son grabbed confounded him even more than the Dee Snider hanging nearby. One of them was an intense, glasses-sporting figure brandishing a whip while wearing a red flower pot on his head. The other clutched a guitar while wearing shades and a yellow jumpsuit. “Devo,” I said happily, while starting to ponder this most unique and easily identifiable group.
What’s with the outfits? How did this band become so iconic? What did they do beyond “Whip It”? These are legitimate questions,...

As Skidrow frontman Sebastian Bach sat down after a long day of metal rocking to enjoy some MTV, an energetic pretty boy suddenly appeared before the eyes of Bach. And we can’t forget Twister Sister frontman Dee Snider, who believes that he can pin point the exact moment that metal started to become less metal….when Bon Jovi smiled, creating what many like to call “happy metal”. Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider used some extreme language in a recent rant about Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, saying the executive of the streaming platform “should be taken out and shot” for unfairly compensating artists.
Spotify has come under fire in recent years for multiple reasons, including the platform’s profit-sharing breakdown and decision to host controversial content such as right-wing pundit Joe Rogan’s podcast (which led Neil Young to remove his music from the service). Dee’s beef stems more from the former grievance, with the hard-rock vet tearing into Ek in a new interview with the YouTube podcast The Jeremy White Show.

Nandi Bushell is the latest brave soul to take on Drumeo’s “For the First Time” challenge in which drummers play along to songs they never heard before. In the case of the 13-year-old music prodigy, she was tasked with keeping the beat to the iconic Twisted Sister anthem “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”
Back in September, we saw Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith participate in the same series, absolutely crushing Thirty Seconds to Mars’ “The Kill.” That video is closing in on 10 million YouTube views.
In the new clip featuring Nandi, she is shown a picture of Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider in his full ’80s makeup, and asked, “Do you recognize this guy?” With a puzzled look, Nandi answers, “No.”
Nandi is then played “We’re Not Gonna Take It” with no drum track, and she asks if she needs a cowbell. She then runs through...

The Masked Singer now has another glam-metal alum among its ranks after ex-Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach was revealed as Tiki on the singing competition show on Wednesday night (December 6th).
Inspired by previous appearances from Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider and Poison’s Bret Michaels on the show, Bach was convinced to don the massive head-to-toe disguise, becoming Tiki — a literal walking tiki cocktail. Fittingly, Bach performed a song by fellow rock legends Kiss (“I Was Made for Lovin’ You”) before the big reveal, as he was eliminated during the semifinals.
Panelist Nicole Scherzinger was correct in guessing that the former Skid Row frontman was Tiki, having previously shared a bill with Bach in 2006 and picking up on a clue related to Skid Row’s “Monkey Business.”
“It was 2006 and I was on the same bill as this legend and we saw the monkey clue for Skid Row’s song ‘Monkey Business,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 10, Episode 10 of “The Masked Singer,” “I Wanna Rock,” which aired Dec. 6 on Fox.
Ginuwine wasn’t sure he wanted to be on “The Masked Singer” when it first came calling. But the “Pony” artist ultimately couldn’t resist. “At first I said no, because I’m pretty much a loner type dude, I don’t like to be out in public like that a lot,” he told Variety. “But after a little bit of talking, I ended up saying yes. I wanted to come out of my comfort zone, do something that I hadn’t done.”
And indeed, “The Masked Singer” is unlike anything he or Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach had ever done. Ginuwine and Bach were revealed on Wednesday as the latest two celebrities to participate in Season 10 of “The Masked Singer.” Ginuwine was the Husky,...

Dee Snider has partnered up with Z2 Comics on the new graphic novel “He’s Not Gonna Take It” that chronicles the real-life journey to testify in front of Congress about music censorship and importance of artists’ free speech in the 1980’s. It also shares details from Snider’s early life where he found himself frequently silenced to early efforts that were made to stifle the music of Snider’s band Twisted Sister. “He’s Not Gonna Take It” tells the story of why free speech is so important to this man who has fought for it…even when it endangered everything that was important to him.
We had a chance to preview the graphic novel and it is beautifully put together. Snider’s story is fascinating, and he is the perfect example of a real-life superhero and advocate for free speech and anti-censorship. We have always felt that his...

Huge news for fans of old-school horror as Bloody Disgusting and Screambox have acquired U.S rights to one of my favorite horror films of the year, Here for Blood, an over-the-top gory and insanely fun home invasion slasher that’s no doubt going to gain cult status.
The news was first reported by JoBlo over the weekend.
Directed by Daniel Turres, Here for Blood follows a down-on-his-luck wrestler (Shawn Roberts; Albert Wesker in the Resident Evil films) and his girlfriend (Joelle Farrow) who are having a hard time making ends meet. When his girlfriend finds herself overwhelmed by exams, muscle-bound wrestler Tom O’Bannon steps in to cover one of her babysitting gigs.
But his chill night of junk food and video games quickly takes a turn for the cult-ish when the home is invaded by a gang of mask-wearing maniacs. Isolated and unprepared, Tom, his girlfriend, and a...

Thirty-eight years ago today, Mr. Snider went to Washington. A new graphic novel, Dee Snider: He’s Not Gonna Take It (due out Nov. 21), illustrates the fateful day the Twisted Sister frontman spoke in defense of free speech, alongside Frank Zappa and John Denver, at a Senate hearing regarding placing content-warning labels on album covers. Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello penned a foreword for the book paying tribute to Snider’s heroic spirit.
Publisher Z2 presents Morello as a Spider-Man-like superhero in the panels premiering on Rolling Stone.

In an interview with Stereogum, Cooper was asked about his views on transgenderism given his history of playing around with gender norms as part of his rock image.

Alice Cooper questioned “the whole woke thing” in a new interview, largely agreeing with recent controversial statements made by a couple of his musical peers on gender-affirming care for children.
Back in April, Kiss’ Paul Stanley called sex reassignment treatment for children a “sad and dangerous fad.” His statement was supported by Dee Snider, who commented, “You know what? There was a time where I ‘felt pretty’ too. Glad my parents didn’t jump to any rash conclusions! Well said, Paul Stanley.”
Stanley later tried to clarify his stance, while Snider penned an essay explaining how he has spent a “lifetime of supporting the Transgender community’s right to identify as they want.”
In a new conversation with Stereogum, Cooper was asked about his thoughts on the comments made by Stanley and Snider, to which he replied, “I’m understanding that there are cases of transgender, but I’m afraid...

It’s nearly time for the return of “The Masked Singer,” which means it’s time to meet some of this year’s contestants. And TheWrap can exclusively reveal two of them to you now: Hibiscus and S’more.
Yes, S’more is literally a life-sized s’more from a campfire, complete with a Snidely Whiplash-esque mustache, and Hibiscus does look freshly plucked from a garden. You can see the costumes in full in the photos at the bottom of this post.
Ok, you’re back? Great, let’s speculate. Obviously, the gender of the costume doesn’t always match the gender of the singer inside it. You might recall that last season, “Twisted Sister” singer Dee Snider competed in a female doll costume, complete with heels. So, for now at least, there’s no way to even guess at who might be under the flower and fireside snack costumes.

Strangeland was one of those random bubblecase VHS horror rentals from the local video store that made you feel like you’d won the lottery. An absolute blind rental that ended up blowing your mind and making you feel like you knew something no-one else was aware of. It had it all. Scares, a kick ass metal soundtrack, the birth of internet horror and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider (who wrote the film as well) coming off the top rope and shocking the hell out of you with one of the scariest villain performances ever.

For this month’s installment of “TV Terrors” we revisit the horror-comedy sitcom “Holliston,” which aired for two seasons on the now-defunct FEARnet in 2012 and 2013.
Adam Green and Joe Lynch are two filmmakers and genuine horror fans who have given their fellow horror fans so much over the years, including some great movies like Mayhem, the Hatchet franchise, and Frozen, as well as the upcoming Suitable Flesh. Among their many contributions to the genre was their horror sitcom, “Holliston.”
The best way to describe the series for the uninitiated would be if “Spaced” had a head on collision with “Friends” and was re-attached into a weird, funny monster. Originally premiering as the first original series on the now defunct FEARnet in 2012, “Holliston” is set in the small town of Holliston, Massachusetts, and stars Adam Green as “Adam” and Joe Lynch as “Joe.” Both stars play fictional versions of themselves that are best friends and roommates.

Dee Snider, the Twisted Sisters’ frontman, is being accused of transphobia after agreeing with Paul Stanley‘s tweet about trans kids.
Stanley, who is the lead singer of Kiss, posted a statement on Twitter earlier this month saying, “There is a Big difference between teaching acceptance and normalizing and even encouraging participation in a lifestyle that confuses young children into questioning their sexual identification as though some sort of game and then parents in some cases allow it.”
His statement caused a divide among his fans, with some calling out his use of makeup and high heels in his career.
One fan wrote: “This is a very disappointing take, especially from someone who wore high-heels, makeup, & teased up hair his whole career. As a young kid, your band helped teach me that I could be whatever I wanted to be. I guess it was just gimmickry after all. #thatsashame.”

After being saved by the “Ding Dong Keep It On” bell on “New York Night,” Medusa was on a mission to prove she deserved her spot in Wednesday night’s “The Masked Singer” finale. She clawed her way back into the competition, taking out Gargoyle and Mantis in the “Battle of the Saved.” Next, the snake-headed songstress belted her way through the “Quarter Finals (British Invasion Night)” and sent home California Roll in the “Semi-Finals,” the quintet that originally defeated her.
With just Macaw standing between Medusa and the Golden Mask trophy, she wowed panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger with performances of “Elastic Heart” by Sia and “Welcome to the Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance. She said after the latter, “This means so much to me, and, the fact that I got to end my journey with my sister’s favorite song, and,...

It was déjà vu for David Archuleta on Wednesday night’s finale of “The Masked Singer.” The 32-year old performer who had been masquerading as Macaw all season finished in second place to Medusa, the same position he landed on Season 7 of “American Idol” when he lost to David Cook. His emotional journey of self-discovery ended with performances of “Hold Back the River” by James Bay and “All By Myself” by Eric Carmen. Panelists Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong correctly guessed the musician’s identity, but Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg were off the mark.
“We knew we were coming on this, going out of our comfort zone and doing something different,” David told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “I didn’t know it was going to be so much fun. It’s just been healing being able to be the Macaw.”
Ken got emotional, stating, “When...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 9, episode 14 season finale of “The Masked Singer,” which aired May 17 on Fox.
Like a river, Bishop Briggs kept a steady flow throughout Season 9 of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” — and her perseverance was rewarded with the championship. Briggs, as Medusa, won this season’s top prize and was finally unmasked on Wednesday night’s finale, along with runner-up David Archuleta, revealed as the Macaw.
Briggs, who performed the most of any contestant this season, sealed her victory with performances of “Elastic Heart,” by Sia, and “Welcome to the Black Parade,” by My Chemical Romance. Although Briggs said singing under the Medusa costume was a challenge, she pointed out that it was nothing compared to what she did last year.
“When I was on the show, I was six months postpartum,” she said. “My most recent memory was performing at Coachella while pregnant,...
