His paintings made news worldwide, but it turns out that former President George W. Bush has been working on another, highly personal project since leaving the White House: He has quietly completed a biography of his father, former President George H.W. Bush. Crown Publishers told the Associated Press that the book, currently untitled, will be released November 11. In 2010, Crown published the younger Bush's million-selling memoir, Decision Points. "George H.W. Bush is a great servant, statesman, and father," George W. Bush said in a statement issued by Crown. "I loved writing the story of his life, and I hope others enjoy reading it.

It doesn’t seem possible that it was around 30 years ago that A Flock of Seagulls ran so far away or Modern English melted with us, but it was. The story behind those acts, their biggest hits, and dozens of other New Wave acts are captured in all their ‘80s bad hairdo-ed, brightly colored-glory in “Mad World: An Oral History of New Wave Artists And Songs That Defined The 1980s.” Written by Lori Majewski and Jonathan Bernstein, with a forward by Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes and an afterward by Moby, the book examines the New Wave era through the filter of 36 songs associated with the time, such as Gary Numan’s “Cars,” Duran Duran’s “Girls On Film” and The Smiths’ “How Soon Is Now.” Each chapter deals with one act and, while not limited to the group’s biggest hit, explores the story behind that tune and the...

As if we weren’t excited enough for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire!’ Lorde’s amazing cover of ‘Everybody wants to Rule the World’ is on the soundtrack — and you can listen to it right here!
Lorde takes on the 1985 hit by Tears for Fears for the film, which hits theaters on November 22. Her rendition of the song is much darker and slower than the original, which fits perfectly for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

The New Zealand singer, 16, is among a ton of talented artists for the soundtrack. And while she’s covering a classic, the original singers are actually impressed with her version.

It's been over three decades since Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith came together to form one of the greatest synth pop alliances we've ever known: Tears for Fears. Today that band, credited with new wave masterpieces like "Mad World" and "Change," is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their first record, "The Hurting."
That's right, your favorite concept album dedicated to personal suffering and primal scream therapy is turning 30.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, there are several things you could do. First, we recommend listening the 10-song LP while reminiscing about other significant events that took place in 1983 -- like the first flight of the Space Shuttle Challenger or the release of "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi." Then you should probably follow up that listening party with the rest of the British band's discography, because who doesn't want to spend another hour humming along to "Songs From the Big Chair?...

Britons famous, once famous and perhaps to be famous again are beating the drum for the UK in Hollywood this week
For once, there was no shame in being on the B-list: they came from all corners of Hollywood – peaks of fame, foothills of recognition and valleys of the forgotten – to celebrate Britishness.
A female bagpiper in an electric-blue miniskirt summoned the disparate tribe of dames, geezers, toffs and other transplanted Brits to proclaim their success, or mere survival, at a red-carpet gala in west Hollywood on Tuesday night.
It was the launch of BritWeek, an annual series of events co-founded six years ago by Nigel Lythgoe, the Wirral-born producer of American Idol, Pop Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.
"The Brits that weren't very good at what they did went home and complained about how horrible everything was in Los Angeles," said Lythgoe, working his way up the carpet.

"Psych's" season of exceptional guests continues with the August 25 episode "Ferry Tale."
Shawn (James Roday) and Gus's (Dulé Hill) ferry ride gets ugly when a group of prisoners, led by "True Blood's current Lafayette love interest Kevin Alejandro, turn on their U.S. Marshall escort (Chi McBride) and take all the passengers hostage.
McBride can currently be seen as a regular on "Human Target," and he's probably best known for his work on "Boston Public," but for us, he'll always be "Pushing Daisies'" crotchety private eye, Emerson Cod. That role also particularly lends itself to this one, with McBride playing a grumpy, slightly bumbling man of the law.
But where do feigned psychic powers come into all this? We have no idea. There hasn't been a murder-less episode of "Psych" since we don't know when.
Next up? The September 1 episode, "Shawn 2.0," which looks to be the pinnacle...

Psych is now three weeks into Season 5 and we've already seen a Kung Fu episode and a tap dancing episode. Pop culture junkies like us tune in to Psych just to see what obscure references they'll put in each week's episodes. And in an interview with series creator Steve Franks and star James Roday, our pop culture heroes, was no different. Right from the get go, they were spewing out pop culture tidbits from Clouseau to Tears for Fears. Read on to see what they had to say about Axe body spray, going boneless, Twin Peaks, and more, and tune in to Psych Wednesday nights on USA Network at 10:00 Pm.
Q: How the Juliet relationship is going to change now that your father is in the police station?
James: You know what, I’m wisely and sagely yielding all Juliet questions to Steve Franks.

That's it. That's all you need to know about the Psych panel. Sure other things happened. we learned about an upcoming episode called "Viagra Falls" guest starring William Devane and Carl Wethers. We saw a clip of an upcoming episode featuring Freddie Prinze Jr. We were told that Franka Potente and C. Thomas Howell are guest starring in an ep. Nestor Carbonell! was in the sizzle video and has a multi-episode arc. Maggie Lawson said, "I will say that Shawn Spencer is a boy and I will say that [real life boyfriend] James Roday is a man." Series creator Steve Franks talked about how directing 6 episodes has made him a better writer. He also revealed that he was the foreman of the Tiki Room at Disneyland for 8 years. Producer Kelly Kulchak promised that this season will be 85% cooler than last season. Curt Smith from Tears for Fears performed "Shout" with James Roday.

USA Network was one of the firsts to hold a panel at the first day of San Diego Comic Con this year. "Burn Notice" kicked off the network's presentation at 1 P.M., revealing that a stand-alone movie will be created and centering on Bruce Campbell's Sam Axe.
USA exec Jeff Eastin said Campbell will be producing the "action-packed" TV movie which is made as a prequel explaining what happened to Axe and how he ended up retired and in Miami. "We learn a little more about the guy, and we get to see Sam Axe in action with guns. And I'm hoping you're Ok with this, but I'm thinking about putting a chainsaw in your hand," creator Matt Nix said to Campbell.
Nix also made use of the occasion to announce that this season's viewers can look forward to watching episodes that feature individual narrations from each character, Bruce,...

I thought I learned by now never to be surprised by any of Psych's 'Psych-out' moments, but who would have guessed that I would bear witness to an acoustic performance of Tears For Fears' 'Shout' (the Comic-Con remix) performed live by Curt Smith himself with vocal assistance from James Roday and Dule Hill? I'm not even sure Shawn Spencer could have foreseen such an epic performance.
Panel members included cast members James Roday (Shawn), Dule Hill (Gus), Tim Omundsom (Lassiter), Maggie Lawson (Juliet), Kirsten Nelson (Chief Vick), and Corbin Bernsen (Henry Spencer) as well as Executive producers Kelly Kulchak and Chris Henze and creator Steve Franks. Andy Berman moderated the panel.

“We have been slacking a little bit this year, so I do apologize on behalf of all of us here at Psych. But they are coming,” Dulé Hill says, when asked what ’80s songs we can expect performed in Psych-Outs this season. So far, they’ve filmed one, with upcoming guest star Curt Smith from Tears for Fears. Songs that may make the cut: “Maybe ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart.’ Maybe ‘We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off” by Jermaine Stewart. Maybe. Maybe is always the key word.” Here, Hill answers more questions from EW readers (and...

One of my favorite shows, perhaps ever, Psych returns tonight, and James Roday and Steve Franks held a Q & A recently to discuss the new season.
There is really nothing like Psych, and there is nothing like an interview with James Roday on the line. Normally, I would trim up an interview, but I can’t bring myself to do it with James in the conversation. These calls are too much fun.
Because of that, I’m just going to jump right into it, and let you have fun, but I would be remiss if I didn’t give you a link as well. I talked with James before the start of last season, and stayed away from talking about the show itself as much as possible. It turned into a great conversation, and I got the chance to share a lot of great insight into his tastes in things on screens.

Question: Can you tell me anything about Supernatural’s new season? —Bryan
Ausiello: I can’t be certain, but I think I just uncovered a significant clue about the overriding plot of season 6: Sources confirm to me exclusively that X-Files vet Mitch Pileggi is in talks to reprise his role as Sam and Dean’s presumed-dead grandpa on a potentially recurring basis.
Question: Any scoop on the new season of Torchwood?...
