Just over a quarter of a century ago, one of the biggest sci-fi franchises had its second and possibly finest instalment.
Aliens, released in 1986, grossed $131million globally and was nominated for seven Oscars, including a Best Actress nomination for Sigourney Weaver.
On September 24 and 25, the UK's National Space Centre in Leicester will be celebrating the 25-year milestone and inviting fans to come along to meet cast members Ricco Ross, Daniel Kash, Colette Hiller, Cynthia Scott and Trevor Steedman. Joining this squad of Colonial Marines will be the creator of their armour, Terry English.
There are also panels, with one including special effects experts Steve Begg (Aliens SFX supervisor), Chrissie Overs (Aliens creature sculptor) and Christopher Trice (senior modeller for Alien vs Predator).
Visitors can try Aliens Encounter, an interactive walk-through experience specially created by the UK Colonial Marines, a group of enthusiasts who dress as the characters from the second film.
