- Gerard Schurmann was born on January 19, 1924 in Kertosono, Kediri, Dutch East Indies [now Kertosono, East Java, Indonesia]. He was a composer, known for Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Cross of Iron (1977) and Konga (1961). He died on March 24, 2020 in Hollywood Hills, California, USA.
