Carice van Houten is a cat-turned-women in Miss Minoes.
A cat who transforms into a young woman to help a timid journalist and protect their town from a nefarious industrialist in the 2001 Dutch family fantasy film Miss Minoes.
Carice van Houten (who’s currently making noise on premium cable TV as the magical priestess Melisandre in HBO’s Game of Thrones) stars in the title role of a woman who still enjoys purring, rubbing her face against other people’s faces, sleeping in a box, and, of course, communicating with her fellow cats—all of whom still recognize her from her days as a local feline. Miss Minoes uses her crack team of news-gathering kitty friends to assist a shy but talented journalist (Theo Maasen) to become a star reporter and then uncover the nefarious plans of a scheming factory owner.
