Harmony, the Barry Manilow-Bruce Sussman musical that played a sold-out run at New York’s National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene last spring, will move to Broadway this fall, producers announced today.
The production will begin previews at Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre on Wednesday, October 18, ahead of a Monday, November 13 official opening night.

Harmony chronicles the real-life story of The Comedian Harmonists, who sold millions of records in the 1920s and ’30s, made dozens of films, and sold out major venues around the world. The official synopsis “Their heavenly harmonies and musical comedy antics catapulted these six talented young men from singing in the subway tunnels of Berlin to international superstardom. What happened next is the story of Harmony.”

The International Film Festival Rotterdam has unveiled the selections for its Bright Future and Spectrum programmes (list of premiere titles below).
Across both sections there are 37 world premieres.
Bright Future is comprised of 63 films, all first and second features. Bright Future includes five films supported by the Hubert Bals Fund, including Carlos Armella’s Las voces.
Five films from Bright Future will compete in the Big Screen Award Competition, including telepathic dwarf thriller La distancia by Sergio Caballero; and Riad Sattouf’s Jacky au royaume des filles starring Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Other notable seelctions include Burrowing director Henrik Helstrom’s second feature The Quiet Roar, about a dying woman who reconnects with her past through an acid trip.

Documentary L’amministratore by Vincenzo Marra will open the CinemaXXI competition section of the Rome Film Festival (November 8-17, 2013).
Neapolitan director and screenwriter Marra returns to southern Italy for the story of Umberto Montella, a building administrator who spends his days in meetings dealing with the small and large problems of everyday Neapolitan life.
Marra is best known for Sailing Home and Vento di Terra, which won five and three awards at Venice, respectively.

Rome -- L'amministratore, a documentary about the daily life of a Naples building administrator from award-winning director Vincenzo Marra will be the opening film of the Rome Film Festival's CinemaXXI section for new trends in cinema, festival organizers said Friday.
