- Burton Roueche was born on June 17, 1909. Burton was a writer, known for Bigger Than Life (1956), Danger (1950) and Playwrights '56 (1955). Burton died on January 18, 1971 in San Francisco, California, USA.
- Famous for his "Annals Of Medicine" column in " The New Yorker", he was a contributor to the magazine for fifty years, until he was an octogenarian. In the late 1980s, he was diagnosed with emphysema, which occasioned periods of deep depression which in turn led to his taking his own life.
