Gene Romero(1947-2019)
- Additional Crew
Gene Romero was once one of America's Greatest Motorcycle Racers.
Nicknamed Burritto, Romero raced Motorcycles on the AMA Grand National
circuit. In the old days when Men were Men this included all types of
racing, Flat track (mile/half mile/short track) Road Racing, and TT (a
type of motocross and flat track). Romero's skill earned him wins in
each class including the king of them all the Daytona 200 road race in
1975 and Grand National Champion #1 plate in 1970 as well as beating
the pants off of racers like Paul Smart, Giacomo Agostini and even King
Kenny Roberts. Romero has raced several brands of motorcycles including
Harley Davidson, Yamaha and his personal favorite Triumph. Gene was
also the head of Honda's flat Track program in the 80's. Although Gene
does not sling his leg over a motorcycle any more (because he's been
there and done that) He now runs a Flat track motorcycle racing series
on the west coast.
