His presence became somewhat of a running joke, where his characters would always be beaten by Indiana Jones. However, a scene of Indy knocking him out was deleted from 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', so only a brief cameo appearance was left (he can be seen running alongside Colonel Vogel (Michael Byrne as they speed toward the blimp).
- Auditioned for the role of Darth Vader in 1976.
- He appears in the first three Indiana Jones films, playing four different roles. He wasn't in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), because he had sadly passed away by that time.
- Along with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sven-Ole Thorsen, he is one of few actors who has been in three movies based on the writings of Robert E. Howard.
- Worked as a professional wrestler, competing under the name Pat 'Bomber' Roach.
- Was offered the chance to train Harrison Ford for the second Indiana Jones film but turned it down saying he "didn't want to be known as a trainer".
- Was appointed director of operations for the British wrestling association FWA (Frontier Wrestling Association) at FWA New Frontiers (8th February 2003.) Maintained a behind-the-scenes role with the company until his death, although New Frontiers was his only appearance with the FWA.
- Roach usually plays tough characters, due to his stature and physique.
