As a "Half-Jew" his career ended definitely in the now National Socialist Germany in 1933. He still was able to produce some short movies but finally he left Germany and went to England where he got married in 1937.
He became established as a very busy actor in the next years and impersonated roles in well-known productions like "Das Geheimnis der alten Mamsell" (1925) and "Der Bankraub unter den Linden" (1925).
After the war he returned to his hometown Berlin and became a co-owner of the production company "Sonne Film GmbH" together with Franz Fiedler. However he never acted again in front of the camera.
He became one of the first well-known movie child actors beside Martin Herzberg, Loni Nest and Curt Bois..
With the rise of the talkies he retired from the film business. He only took part in few more movies like "Liebeskommando" (1931) and "Unter falscher Flagge" (1932).
The actor Gerhard Ritterband already began his film career as a teenager.
