The creator of Full House spilled some tea about casting the beloved sitcom, and we learned some exciting new details about how the show came together.
Starring the likes of Bob Saget, John Stamos, Lori Laughlin and more, the show dominated the late ’80s and ’90s. It still has a devoted following to this day.
Creator Jeff Franklin stopped by franchise stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber‘s How Rude, Tanneritos podcast to talk the show’s creation and success.
In the process, he revealed two actors who didn’t need to audition for their roles. Jeff also revealed the role that they had an exceptionally difficult time casting.

The two castmates who didn’t audition were Jodie and John.
“Jodie for sure because I stumbled onto that tape of her from Valerie,” Jeff recalled, referring to another show that the actress appeared on.

“Full House” creator Jeff Franklin is going down memory lane on Dave Coulier‘s new series, “Full House Rewind”. Franklin appeared on the first episode of the PodCo series, where he and Coulier reminisced about the pilot episode of the popular family comedy, which starred the late Bob Saget, John Stamos, Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.
During the episode, which Coulier dedicated to Saget, Franklin revealed Sweetin was the first actor cast on “Full House”. He shared that after they held the first cast table read, Stamos was ready to get off the show because he was concerned Sweetin and the younger actors would take the spotlight.
“I remembered our first table read,” Coulier said.
“Where there’s a room full of studio and network executives. They were all there to see Stamos, I think,” Franklin recalled.
“Jodie just stole the show,” Coulier remembered.

Jeff Franklin, the creator of Full House, is looking back at how the show began and recalled a moment when John Stamos almost backed out of the series.
The writer-producer-director appeared on the first episode of Dave Coulier’s new podcast, Full House Rewind, which they dedicated to the late Bob Saget.
While talking about the show’s first table read with the actors, Franklin noted that there was a “room full of studio and network executives and everybody who could possibly be there. They were all there to see Stamos, I think.”
But Franklin recalled that “Jodie [Sweetin] just stole the whole thing” with her humor, which he said left Stamos upset because he was afraid the younger stars were going to steal the spotlight.
Coulier chimed in and said he remembers “walking out with John” afterward when the Scream Queens actor told him, “The whole show’s gonna be her.

Variety reports that the streaming service has submitted Teen Wolf: The Movie for Emmys consideration in the following categories: Outstanding Television Movie, Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Tyler Posey), Directing (Russell Mulcahy), Writing, Prosthetic Makeup and Original Music and Lyrics (“Lemon” by Tyler Posey).
Since Posey was also a producer on the film, Variety notes that these submissions give him three chances to earn an Emmy nod.

Eleven years ago, Jeff Davis took the basic concept of the 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf (watch our Awfully Good video on that movie Here) and turned it into a supernatural teen drama series for MTV. The show ran for six seasons, wrapping up in 2017. Five years later, much of the show’s cast has been brought back together for the Teen Wolf franchise’s return to the world of feature films, a project appropriately titled Teen Wolf: The Movie. The new movie is going to be released through the Paramount+ streaming service on January 26th, and today they unveiled a poster for it. You can take a look at the poster at the bottom of this article.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Better Call Saul” Season 6, Episode 7, “Plan and Execution.”]
If there’s a dominant streak in this first half of the “Better Call Saul” farewell season, it’s the idea of surveillance. Aside from the fact that we’re all (in our own weird way) complicit in spying on the most vulnerable moments of these characters’ lives, they’re already doing a pretty good job of doing it to each other: guys stationed in squad cars tucked just out of view, massive battle stations’ worth of security cameras trained on every inch of the Fortress of Fringitude, and — as we see in this midseason finale — Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) peeping through a pair of binoculars at the massive laundry operation he’s convinced is the disguise we know it to be.
They’re all waiting for a moment of weakness, one tiny slip-up to give them just enough of an advantage to pounce.

Who, exactly, was clamoring for a biopic about the origins and backstory of Full House, the ABC sitcom that garnered huge ratings, spawned catchphrases, and introduced the world to the Olsen twins? It's entirely possible that the movie was greenlit in reaction to the news that Fuller House, a continuation of the series focusing on eldest daughter D.J. Tanner (Candace Camerone Bur), will premiere on Netflix in 2016. Or it's possible that, after the success of The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story, Lifetime sensed an opportunity to keep the nostalgia-fueled train going.

While Full House spin-off Fuller House won't debut until next year on Netflix, we have Lifetime's The Unauthorized Full House Story to tide us over with juicy behind-the-scenes details about the beloved 1990s sitcom.
We already know the TV movie will cover John Stamos' frustrations with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, plus the twins' serious salary negotiations, but we're still anxious to find out if the TV movie will depict a few more intriguing moments in Full House history.
How did the original Danny Tanner handle being fired?
One of Full House's most dramatic moments happened before the show even hit the air.

One of the biggest surprises of the summer for us so far is that MTV's new "Teen Wolf" has turned out to be quite watchable and actually pretty enjoyable. Those of you who agree will want to check out "Search for a Cure", a six-episode companion web series recently launched by the network starring Tyler Posey and his real-life father, John.
EW.com got the first word on the webisodes, which were written and directed by the show’s creator, Jeff Davis. Each episode follows Scott (Posey) and his best friend Stiles (Dylan O’Brien). The shorts also introduce a new character, Dr. Fenris, who’s played by Posey’s dad (actor John Posey, who has a long TV career including recent guest spots in "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior"). John Posey will also appear in the actual MTV series later this season.

The first season of MTV’s dramafied Teen Wolf reboot has so far scored a 61 on the Metacritic scale. That and an average weekly viewership fluctuating between 1.675 million and 2.167 million pairs of eyeballs may or may not be enough to guarantee the program a second season, but it did guarantee an original web series. James Hibberd at EW reports MTV is launching six online exclusive shorts starring every middle school girl’s second favorite young man with a gym membership who turns into a wolf (Team Jacob 4 Eva!), Tyler Posey. The online mini-series is dubbed Search for the Cure, is written and directed by creator Jeff Davis (who also created Criminal Minds), stars Posey alongside Dylan O’Brien and his real-life father John Posey, is produced by Mec and Generate Studios (a company that is very familiar with the web series world), and is pretty good. Yes, Posey and O...

**Spoiler Alert** This post contains major plot details from Tuesday night's episode of NCIS.
AfterElton has written at length about CBS and its appalling track record of including Lgbt characters in its scripted programming. Ae reviewed the major networks back in 2008, noting the invisibility of Glbt characters on CBS's scripted programming. Last year GLAAD gave the network a failing grade in its Network Responsibility Index for the 2008-09 season for gay visibility, noting that just 5% of the network's 1,148 hours of primetime programming was Lgbt-inclusive. CBS continued in its failing ways for the 2009-2010 season.
Responding to her network's poor performance, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler told AfterElton in 2008 that network policy was one of inclusion and that a goal of CBS's programming is "to reflect what our audience looks like." The issue of Glbt representation was important to her personally, she said, because of her background in the New York...

The sports drama Legendary essentially moves The Karate Kid to the wrestling mat, with WWE superstar John Cena assuming the mentoring Miyagi role to a bullied high-school teen (Devon Graye). Before you dismiss it as just another melodrama built around pro wrestling's flavor of the month, know that Legendary found room for Patricia Clarkson and Danny Glover in key supporting roles. Prior to the main event, Cena entered the proverbial steel-cage death match we call AMC FilmCritic.com, tossed me in a headlock, and answered questions on bullies, getting emotional on film, and his dream of starring in an Expendables sequel.Q: Why, John, did we not see you in The Expendables? A: I don't know! [Laughs] Maybe the Ups guy forgot to deliver my résumé and my audition tape. I know the movie did well. I hope they make a sequel, and I would love to be involved in it.

A fresh sneak peek for "Legendary" has surfaced online before the film hits limited U.S. theaters on September 10. Shorter than the first trailer, the new one is packed with scenes which expose Devon Graye's Cal Chetley who is determined to be a wrestler like his brother Mike, portrayed by WWE Superstar John Cena.
Mike, a one time world-class high school/collegiate wrestler, left Cal and his mother behind years ago after a tragic car accident killed their father - and accident to this day Mike feels responsible for. A book-smart and undersized fifteen-year-old boy, Cal is far from how a wrestler is supposed to be. Still, he joins his high school wrestling team in the hopes his brother will train him and his family will reunite.
