Peter Piech(1918-1999)
- Producer
Peter Piech lived in Dix Hills, Long Island, New York, from 1955 to 1982. He had an office on Route 110 (Walt Whitman Rd.), in Huntington Station, a few minutes away from his home. One of his hobbies was growing asparagus in a fenced garden on his property, which was located on the grounds of what was once known as the Chateau d'Iver, a 1,000 acre estate owned by Charles Albert Gould (Director & Vice President of Associated Dry Goods; President of Lord & Taylor Dept. Stores, etc.) until his death in 1951. In 1954, the John Russell Pope designed Chateau was demolished, & Piech purchased one of the one acre plots that was being sold for a future housing development. Piech & his wife sold their Dix Hills house in 1982, & moved to Florida, leaving behind some of his Rocky & Bullwinkle memorabilia.
