After smaller roles she also got offered leading roles and she impersonated roles in classic and modern play, among others at the Deutsches Theater and the Schillertheater in Berlin.
The 20s marked the height of her cinematical career and she took part in some important productions.
At the beginning of the 30s she appeared the last time in front of the camera for "Ludwig der Zweite, König von Bayern" (1930) and "Ihre Majestät die Liebe" (1931).
The actress Hedwig Pauly-Winterstein appeared on stage from the 1880 and she got numerous engagements in the next years.
She joined the film business in 1919 and her first movie was "Die Sippschaft" (1919).
