Not much is known about the first person to play Charlie Chan in a
Fox production. Indeed, it is not even known if he was a
professional actor. What is known is that he was the last person of
Asian extraction to play the part.
Served as an interpreter at the Angel Island immigration station for many years before coming to Los Angeles in 1928.
His death obituary listed him as being born 1876, his WWI draft says he was born April 1881.
