Aside from being one of the very best films of this awards season, the Coen brothers' lovely, melancholic Inside Llewyn Davis also features one of the very best performances from a cat we've ever seen on the big screen.
In honour of the wonder that is Ulysses the Cat, we've picked out eleven more of the movies' greatest felines. We only had one rule: these had to be domestic cats. Sorry Simba, Aslan, Richard Parker et al.
Thomas O'Malley (The AristoCats)
At first glance, Thomas O'Malley comes across as a bit of a douchebag, the self-assured charmer who you wish wasn't hitting on you in a bar (or, in the modern age, a box on the Internet). He's even got his own theme tune full of talk about how he's "duke of the avant-garde", for crying out loud.
Ultimately, though, Thomas proves to be pretty handy in a jam, saving...

On October 16, 1923, Walt Disney and brother Roy signed a contract with Margaret Winkler to make a series of animated cartoons called Alice Comedies. What was then known as The Disney Brothers Studio eventually became The Walt Disney Company, a multi-billion dollar creative force crossing movies, TV, video games and theme parks.
With Disney celebrating its 90th birthday today, we here at Digital Spy are marking this momentous anniversary by picking out our favourite Disney movies. Disney has produced and released an eclectic range of films crossing classic animation (see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs), live-action blockbusters (Tron, Pirates of the Caribbean) and trail-blazing Pixar offerings (Toy Story, Wall-e).
Without further delay, here are 13 movies from the Disney back catalogue that we absolutely adore...

One of Disney's latest offerings on Blu-ray is the classic animated feature The Aristocats. It's interesting that the Mouse House released two 1970s era films in the same month. This one boasts a jazzy soundtrack that will have viewers of all ages tapping their feet. It's of note that this was the last movie Walt Disney approved before his death in 1966.
The scheming butler of a rich Parisian socialite kidnaps her beloved mother cat and kittens after overhearing the woman's plans to leave her inheritance to the pets. A smooth-talking tomcat helps the high-society house cat and her family finds their way back home. They meet all kinds of interesting characters along the way.
This is standard Disney in all its shining glory. It promotes family and shows the audience that good always overcomes evil in the end. The story comes off as a 101 Dalmatians for cat lovers, but doesn't completely duplicating it.

Soumya Sriraman has been promoted to senior vp theatrical marketing and Yolanda Macias has been upped to senior vp business development and acquisitions at Vivendi Entertainment.
Formerly vp marketing and operations, Sriraman will be responsible for all aspects of theatrical marketing including publicity, promotions, media and creative services as Vivendi Entertainment expands from DVD distribution into theatrical releasing.
Macias, who had held the title of vp business development and acquisitions, will be charged with acquiring films from independent producers and suppliers. She recently negotiated the acquisition of the upcoming "New York, I Love You," which saw Vivendi Entertainment partner with Palm Pictures.
Vivendi Entertainment president Tom O'Malley announced the promotions.
Part of the Universal Music Group family of companies -- which, in turn, is a subsidiary of France's Vivendi -- Los Angeles-based Vivendi Entertainment was launched in September 2004 as a DVD distributor. It has since begun to move into digital, TV and theatrical distribution with plans to release between eight and 14 films per year theatrically.
