Stephen Myers received a journalism degree from the prestigious Henry
W. Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia in Athens.
He worked at the American Film Institute before becoming Jonathan
Demme's personal assistant on Melvin and Howard. Myers assisted veteran
comedy editor Bud Molin on several films with Carl Reiner before
co-editing Reiner's Fatal Instinct with Molin. He has edited a wide
range of subject matter including comedy, drama, and science fiction
for feature films and cable movies. In recent years, Stephen has
expanded into documentaries. Movies Stephen edited have been official
selections of the AFI, Hollywood, South by Southwest, Montreal, Palm
Springs, Santa Barbara, and Sydney film festivals.
Member of A.C.E. (American Cinema Editors), honorary organization
recognizing and promoting the craft of film editing.
Member of Academy of Television Arts and Sciences which recognizes
excellence in television programming through its Emmy Awards and the
Television Hall of Fame.
Graduated with a journalism degree from the University of
Georgia.
Became personal assistant to director Jonathan Demme on Melvin and
Howard.
Contributed to McGill's Survey of Cinema, a major reference work on
feature films.
