Matthew B. Roberts on what it's like for the Frasers to head home again in Outlander season 7 part 2
Outlander season 7 part 2, aka the final eight episodes of the season, are finally making their way to us on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024 on Starz. There's still a ways to go, but that does mean that the closer we get to the premiere, the more teases start to come out about the next chapter of the epic time-travel drama.
In a recent interview with TVLine, executive producer Matthew B. Roberts shared a hint at what's to come for the Frasers - both the ones in the 18th century and the ones in the 1970s - including how it feels to be back home in Scotland for Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian.
All three haven't been there since the third season. And it's crazy just how long they've been away! Of course we're looking forward to the trio interacting once again with Jenny and Ian Murray, Jamie's sister and brother-in-law and Young Ian's parents.

Outlander just marked a major milestone. On August 9, the steamy period drama celebrated the 10th anniversary of its series premiere.
The Starz show follows the epic romance between Claire (Caitriona Balfe), a time-traveling doctor from the mid-20th century, and Jamie (Sam Heughan) a dashing Highlander from the 18th century. Over the past decades, fans have followed Jamie, Claire, and their family and friends as they crisscrossed the globe and hopped through time, from Scotland to France to the American Colonies and beyond. Over time, plenty has changed for the couple. But their love hasn’t diminished. Instead, it’s grown stronger.
‘Outlander’ star Sam Heughan says Jamie and Claire’s relationship has grown ‘deeper’ since season 1 Jamie and Claire in ‘Outlander’ Season 1 | Starz
“The passion hasn’t changed. It’s deeper and it’s developed,” Heughan told TV Insider earlier this year. “It’s not that Fraser fire that...

“Outlander” fans were out in force last weekend, congregating down under in Sydney and Melbourne for Hublander: A Visit to the Highlands, a first-of-its-kind convention for the TV blockbuster, featuring an hour-long Q&a with star Sam Heughan and hilarious hour-long chats with co-stars Duncan Lacroix, John Bell and Charles Vandervaart.
Gold Derby attended the event and was the only media outlet with exclusive one-on-one access to the show’s leading man backstage. “Good to see you guys, in person and not on Zoom! It’s just amazing, we’re having the best time,” Heughan declared. “It’s great to see all the fans down under and it’s so nice to see the fans come from all over.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

Jamie and Claire are headed back to Scotland in the second half of Outlander Season 7. But their return to the country where they fell in love won’t go as they expect, executive producer Maril Davis has said.
Jamie and Claire return to Scotland in ‘Outlander’ Season 7
The past several seasons of Outlander have followed Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) as they build their life in colonial America. But in the Season 7 Part 1 finale, the couple found themselves on a ship bound for Scotland. They’ve been tasked with returning the body of Jamie’s cousin, General Simon Fraser (Angus Macfadyen), who died at the Second Battle of Saratoga in 1777, to his native land.
In America, the Frasers had been pulled into the Revolutionary War, and the conflict disrupted their earlier plans to sail for Scotland when Jamie was conscripted into the Continental Army. There’s a sense...

For fans of the Starz hit series “Outlander,” the time spent waiting between seasons can feel like an eternity. The sixth season concluded just over a year ago, and in that time the cast and crew have been hard at work to bring out another season of the show. We also received the bittersweet announcement at the end of March that the show’s eighth season would be its last.
Season 6 left us with a monster of a cliffhanger, with Claire (Caitriona Balfe) getting arrested and sent to prison for murder and Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Ian (John Bell) setting off on a mission to get her back. Never a dull moment for the Frasers. Thankfully, the wait is almost over. Season 7 premieres on Starz on June 16. Many fans are understandably eager to see what’s in store for Jamie and Claire and the rest of the Fraser family. And...

If you at all care about Outlander‘s Jamie and/or Claire Fraser, we strongly recommend watching until the very end of the show’s new Season 7 trailer.
The nearly two-and-a-half-minute video, which Starz released Thursday, offers up plenty of weighty moments for us to fret over ahead of the season premiere. A mournful Claire sings “Ave Maria” while walking in a funeral procession. She cries while asking Jamie, “We will make it back here one day, won’t we?” Their house on Fraser’s Ridge very much seems like it’s on fire. Lord John wonders why Jamie won’t fight for England,...

Outlander‘s upcoming seventh season is gearing up for the return of several familiar faces and making way for new ones as Starz announces additional casting. Along with unveiling five new cast members joining the time-traveling fantasy drama, additional fan favorites are set to return for the latest chapter, which is currently filming in Scotland. Perhaps one of the biggest announcements is the return of Graham McTavish in his role as Dougal MacKenzie, uncle to Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), who was killed by the Highlander and his wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe) at the end of Season 2 before the Battle of Culloden. Meanwhile, Nell Hudson will return as Jamie’s ex-wife and Marsali’s (Lauren Lyle) mother, Laoghaire Fraser, along with onscreen daughter Layla Burns who plays Joan MacKimmie. Steven Cree, who plays Ian Murray, father to Young Ian (John Bell) and brother-in-law to Jamie, will also be back. And don...
