This article contains spoilers for the TV series Pretty Little Liars.
Several characters took on the villainous mantle of ‘A’ across Pretty Little Liars’ seven seasons. Some were the true masterminds behind the plans for the Liars’ downfall, while others served as minions on the ‘A’ Team, there to do ‘A’s’ bidding and keep tabs on what the Liars were up to. Not every ‘A’ or member of the ‘A’ Team is equal though, with some being significantly more terrifying than others.
Here’s every person who was officially part of the ‘A’ conspiracy ranked by general scariness as blackmailers, stalkers, and criminal masterminds and by how satisfying their reveal was in the series.
13. Lucas Gottesman, Melissa Hastings
Lucas (Brendan Robinson) and Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) are tied for last place because both really only joined the ‘A’ team because they were being blackmailed themselves. Lucas does work with Mona...

In the shadowy corners of the horror genre, where slashers and ghost stories reign supreme, there lurks a movie that’s been criminally overlooked. Enter Cry_Wolf, the 2005 teen thriller that cleverly played its audience like a fiddle. It’s time to rewind the tape, folks, and give this hidden gem the kudos it deserves. Though you may have missed it under the slasher ressurgence of the late 90s-early aughts, Cry_Wolf is not your run-of-the-mill post-Scream era slasher.
Cry_Wolf is a tangled web of truth, lies, and AOL Instant Messenger. The story kicks off with a group of prep school students who concoct a devious game: spreading a fake rumor about a serial killer to scare the entire student body. The game takes a dark turn when the fictional murders start happening in real life, and the game they invented is no longer in their control..

(l-r) Susan Sarandon as Helen and Edie Falco as Charlotte, in Viper Club. Courtesy of YouTube Originals and Roadside Attractions.
Viper Club is a drama about a heart-wrenching subject, the plight of families of journalists and others kidnapped by terrorists, a story told through the eyes of a tough ER nurse, played by Susan Sarandon, whose freelance journalist son has been kidnapped while working in Syria. It appears to have all the elements of a good thriller – a strong lead, timely subject, urgency to act, the frustration of dealing with a slow-moving official bureaucracy. It is a well-meaning film but unfortunately it is not a good film, despite heroic efforts by Sarandon to give it the depth and humanity it needs.
Sarandon is the best part of this film, as Helen the nurse caught in a mother’s worst nightmare. Her son Andy (Julian Morris) has been kidnapped while working as a freelancer in Syria.

Both an arthouse model of an old-school Lifetime movie and an unexpectedly tender take on A-list social-issue melodramas, Maryam Keshavarz’s Viper Club starts with Susan Sarandon’s frazzled, desperate mother looking directly into the camera. Or rather, “a” camera — one being held by folks out of frame, coaching her on how to properly address terrorists. She’s filming a ransom video to the men who have her grown son. He’s a war videographer, documenting the ongoing civil war in Syria; he’s also been taken hostage. So she...

YouTube will donate $40,000 and half of its proceeds from the theatrical run of Viper Club to the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation after claims from Foley’s mother, Diane Foley, that the film uses her life story without her permission.
In the film, which is the first YouTube-produced picture to get a theatrical run, Susan Sarandon plays an emergency room nurse whose son, Andy (Julian Morris), is abducted by Islamic extremists while reporting in Syria, and is killed despite his mother's efforts to save him. Like Sarandon's character, Diane is a nurse, and James was kidnapped in Syria in 2012. He was later killed on camera.
When Diane’s objections surfaced last month, Maryam Keshavarz, the film’s director, said that James’ story was one of the inspirations for Viper Club, but that it was not directly based upon Diane and James' lives, per The Hollywood Reporter.

An empathetic turn by Susan Sarandon as an anxious mother whose journalist son is being held hostage by overseas extremists is enough to hold together “Viper Club.” But it’s not quite enough to render this subject as compelling as it should be; the intimacy of the protagonist’s viewpoint also results in an isolated and monotonously apolitical look at a narrow civilian aspect of turbulent global politics.
YouTube Originals and Roadside Attractions plans a U.S. theatrical release on Oct. 26, and an awards campaign for the star could stir some interest. Yet this earnest drama, a second narrative feature for director/co-scribe Maryam Keshavarz (following 2011’s Iran-set “Circumstance”) feels like it would be most at home on the small screen.

"Do you think I'm afraid of a jail sentence?" Roadside Attractions has unveiled the first official trailer for Maryam Keshavarz's new film Viper Club, which is premiering at the Toronto Film Festival this week. Viper Club is about a mother who becomes desperate and impatient as she struggles to figure out how to get help to free her journalist son after he is captured by terrorists in the Middle East. The film is entirely from her perspective, showing how hard it is to get the government to care, until she discovers a group of people who may just have a way to help. Susan Sarandon stars, along with Matt Bomer, Damian Young, Lola Kirke, Edie Falco, Julian Morris, Sheila Vand, Colby Minifie, plus Adepero Oduye. This looks quite good, an intriguing alternative perspective with a few strong performances leading the way. See below. Can Susan Sarandon, Matt Bomer, and Edie Falco do what the U.S. Government cannot? Ok, that answer seems obvious, given the trio’s long-running history of humanitarian acts, but the real question posed in “Viper Club” is whether or not their characters can rescue a kidnapped reporter after American officials say there’s nothing to be done.
Iranian-American filmmaker Maryam Keshavarz’s upcoming drama is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, co-written by Keshavarz and Jonathan Mastro, and co-starring Lola Kirke, Julian Morris, Sheila Vand, and Adepero Oduye.
In “Viper Club, Helen (Sarandon) is an E.R. nurse whose son is kidnapped while reporting overseas. The Los Angeles Film Festival will close with the world premiere of first-time writer/director David Raymond’s psychological thriller Nomis, which will screen on Sept. 28 at the Arclight Hollywood Cinerama Dome.
The film focuses on a police trap for online predator Simon Stulls. They soon realize that the extent of his crimes go far beyond that of his own psychological trauma. Nothing quite makes sense – that is, until people involved in the case on both sides of the law start getting murdered. Nomis stars Henry Cavill, Sir Ben Kingsley, Nathan Fillion, Minka Kelly, Alexandra Daddario and Stanley Tucci.
“As a festival that has always championed new voices, it is only fitting to be closing this year with the work of a first-time writer/director,” said Jennifer Cochis, La Film Festival Director. “In Nomis, David Raymond created a thrilling film made all the more terrifying by the performances from his incredible cast.

YouTube Red is taking a tentative step toward becoming more like Amazon Studios with the announcement of an in-house production that it says will see a theatrical release.
Directed by Iranian-American writer-director Maryam Keshavarz (“Circumstance”), “Vulture Club” stars Susan Sarandon as an ER nurse whose co-workers have no idea that her journalist son has been taken hostage by terrorists. The film also stars Julian Morris (“Pretty Little Liars”), Edie Falco, and Matt Bomer. Producers are J.C. Chandor, Anna Gerb, and Neal Dodson.
While YouTube Red announced that principal photography is complete, details on how it plans to release it in theaters are slim.
“We don’t have any news to report on a theatrical partner at this stage, a YouTube Red representative said. “Perhaps later once we identify a partner.”
This would represent a significant strategy shift for the streaming service. Last year, YouTube Red booked its own one-week runs...

Academy Award® nominee Liam Neeson (Best Actor, Schindler’s List, 1993) heads an all-star cast as the Watergate whistleblower in the gripping drama Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down The White House, debuting on digital, Blu-ray and DVD January 9 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Written and directed by Peter Landesman (Concussion), the film tells the story of “Deep Throat,” the G-Man who leaked information to journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to uncover the Watergate scandal and bring down the President. As we reach that light-at-the-end-of the-tunnel that concludes the 2017 movie year, theatres are now filled with stories “inspired by true events” and “biopics”. This new release is a bit of both, like last weekend’s Marshall, this tells the story of one man, while focusing on one major event or incident of his long life. Unlike the former Supreme Court justice, this person was not well known by the general public. However, his “nickname” became legendary, thanks in part to a Best Picture Oscar winner. Though the film’s title may sound seem like hyperbole, it presents much evidence to support it in Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down The White House.
We first meet mark Felt (Liam Neeson) on a crisp May morning in 1972 as he readies himself for another day in DC as Deputy Associate Director of the FBI (the number three guy at the Bureau). After...

The name Mark Felt might not strike a chord – replace it with the moniker "Deep Throat," however and watch the imaginary bulb above your head light up. As played by Liam Neeson in a quietly devastating performance, Felt is the 30-year FBI veteran who worked covertly with the press to bring down malfeasance (read: Watergate) in the Nixon White House. That tale was told in the 1976 procedural classic All the President's Men with Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman playing Washington Post muckrakers Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. But the reporting...

Ever since Liam Neeson began kicking ass with the Taken franchise, he has been seen as an unusual action hero. A number of genre efforts (plus sequels to Taken) later, and Neeson kicks ass much more these days than anything else. This week, however, Neeson has a vehicle to display his acting range in with Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House. This biopic says it all in the title, as Neeson is getting to play a baity historical figure at a time where this particular story is as prescient as ever. It’s a welcome return to this sort of material for Neeson, who too often isn’t able to show how wonderful of an actor he really is. This film is a biopic of, believe it or not, Mark Felt (Neeson). Felt was an FBI agent who would become better known as Deep Throat, the...

I don’t think I’ve ever loved a perfect show. I find it impossible to connect with ‘prestige’ dramas, and have always gravitated towards messy, flawed shows over The Sopranos and The Wires of the world. But it’s finished now, and I’ve seen as many lists of stupid stuff that went down as I have think-pieces about how it changed television forever without anyone really noticing. I agree with both, and I also have...

The honeymoon period is definitely over for Alison Dilaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) on Pretty Little Liars.
Spoiler Alert: Stop reading now if you haven't seen this week's episode.
Creator I. Marlene King made good on her tease about a twin twist: The late "Big A" Charlotte (Vanessa Ray) was actually Mrs. Dilaurentis' (Andrea Parker) adopted daughter, and the biological daughter of her secret sister Mary Drake, who was also institutionalized at Radley Sanitarium. So that makes Charlotte the cousin of Ali and Jason (Drew Van Acker), which in turn makes their college fling while Charlotte was masquerading as CeCe slightly less incestuous.

Longtime fans of ABC series "Once Upon a Time" may get to see a fairy tale ending for one returning character after all: actress Jamie Chung is set to reprise her role as Mulan on the show's upcoming fifth season.

Once Upon a Time fans, if you’ve been missing Mulan (like I have), get ready to hear some great news. After having been gone for almost two whole seasons, Jamie Chung is set to return as the fierce warrior in Season 5 of the ABC series. As E! Online first reported, Chung will be back for multiple episodes in the upcoming season of Once Upon a Time. However, details regarding the character’s return are currently being kept under wraps, so we’re not exactly sure yet how Mulan will play into Season 5’s overall story. The last time we saw Mulan on Once Upon a Time was in the show’s third season, as she went and joined Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) and his band of Merry Men after learning that Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger), who it was revealed that Mulan had feelings for, was pregnant with Prince Philip’s (Julian Morris) baby.

Amazon’s new drama “Hand of God” boasts a stellar cast of veteran and newer actors, yet it fails to compel as it weaves a story of attempted suicide, rape and religious fervor. With a cast including Ron Perlman (“Sons of Anarchy”), Dana Delany (“Body of Proof,” “China Beach”), Garret Dillahunt (“Justified”) Andre Royo (“The Wire”) and Julian Morris (“New Girl”), “Hand of God” is packed with proven talent. Though the pilot episode has calculated moments of high drama, it doesn’t make us care about the recently baptized Judge Pernell Harris (Perlman), his coolly detached wife Crystal (Delany), or his daughter-in-law.
