On day 67 of The Writers Guild of America strike, the cast and creatives behind three popular shows joined the picket lines across Los Angeles.
Bright and early at 9:30 a.m. over at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, there was an Ugly Betty reunion with stars Ana Ortiz and Chris Gorham joining writers Brian Tannen, Gabrielle Stanton, Sheila Lawrence, Chris Black, Henry Myers, Cameron Litvack and Tracy Poust on the special picket.
Ugly Betty, based on the hit Spanish-language novela Betty La Fea, aired for four seasons from 2006 to 2010. America Ferrera portrayed the titular Betty Suarez, an unconventional beauty whose unique sense of style doesn’t preclude her from landing a gig at a top fashion magazine. The project was developed by Silvio Horta for ABC and also starred Mark Indelicato, Eric Mabius, Tony Plana, Becki Newton and Michael Urie.

In the 20 years since the premiere of “George Lopez,” the groundbreaking Latino-led series has never been off the air, living on in syndication and through NBC’s new series “Lopez vs. Lopez,” which follows along in its tradition while also forging its own path.
In the freshman comedy’s Christmas-themed episode, Mayan and George Lopez (who play versions of themselves as a daughter-father duo) excavate familial conflicts and generational divides, navigating and healing their relationship as parent and adult child. With the backdrop of Nochebuena, there’s also a “reunion” within the extended family, portrayed by “George Lopez” OGs Constance Marie, Valente Rodriguez, Belita Moreno and Luis Armand Garcia, who guest star.
“We would have loved to have a reboot, but there are just some things internally that just don’t make it possible,” Mayan Lopez told TheWrap. “And so in a way, we were like, ‘We want to pay...

What does it take to finally get your divorced parents to spend Christmas Eve together as a family? If you’re Mayan (Mayan Lopez) in “Lopez vs. Lopez Christmas” just some deception inspired by “The Gift of the Magi.” In order to bring her combative parents together for Nochebuena in the Lopez vs. Lopez holiday episode, Mayan assures her dad George (George Lopez) and mom Rosie (Selenis Leyva) that they’re each giving up what they love most for the evening: George won’t drink the beer that Rosie believes he overly imbibes; Christmas fanatic Rosie won’t wear the crown that annoys George. But seeing how the celebration has gone on without him for the last 10 years may drive Pop to the bottle. “Holidays bring joy, but they also bring up all kinds of emotions,” Mayan tells us. And guests! The George Lopez Show alums Constance Marie, Valente Rodriguez,...

When Cameron Crowe was 15, he became the youngest journalist to write for Rolling Stone Magazine. Throughout his adolescence, he interviewed many iconic musicians of the '70s, including Led Zeppelin, The Who, David Bowie, and Elton John. In 1981, he adapted his book "Fast Times at Ridgemont High: A True Story" into a screenplay, and seven years later, he added Hollywood director to his resume with the release of "Say Anything."
The writer has a natural affection for "the little guy" and a seemingly never-ending ability to create unlikely heroes with universal appeal. Before he fell in love with music, Crowe told Rolling Stone he was a precocious boy who was sheltered by a mother who thought rock and roll was "s*** disguised as candy." In typical teenage fashion, he rebelled against her beliefs by secretly reading Creem, Rolling Stone, and the San Diego Door, and carved his own path in life through writing and music.

By the time Patrick Fugit was ready to shoot an extended sequence where Stillwater, the fictional rock band at the center of “Almost Famous,” shows him the best of 1970s New York City, he was physically exhausted.
It makes sense. Shooting came towards the end of the film’s five-month production and required the 16-year old Fugit to be on set at 4 a.m., something that had left him barely able to keep his eyes open. As cameras rolled, Fugit felt himself drifting off, but his exhaustion couldn’t have come at a worse time, because the filmmakers had shut down traffic on Queensboro Bridge to film the scene.
“We’re sitting there in a limo, and as soon as the sun rose and we had enough light, we had to start filming so we could get off the bridge quickly and people could get on with their lives,” says Fugit.

I can't hear the sound of War's "Low Rider" without imagining Belita Moreno bouncing on a trampoline, palm trees behind her. Every summer, my sisters and I would stay up until two or three in the morning, watching TV or playing games in the family room. We'd inevitably fall asleep on the couch and one of us would wake up to find the George Lopez show playing, before turning off the TV so our parents wouldn't scold us. But the George Lopez show was not just the background to those late nights spent with my siblings. It was the show my family came back to time and time again, because, one, it was the only show we could all agree...

There are some movies that just get under your skin and cause you to have to think, and the worst part is you realise that they aren’t meant to be understood, and that is how they get their hooks into you. Robert Altman’s 3 Women was said to be based on a dream. I guess it comes as no surprise that it feels like it is one of the most haunting dreams you’ll have. With Arrow Video’s new Blu-ray it is also a dream of a release…

The Perfect Strangers sitcom revolves around aspiring photographer Larry Appleton (Mark Linn-Baker) and his misfit cousin, Balki Bartokomous (Bronson Pinchot) from the Mediterranean island of Mypos. The two end up becoming best friends and live and work together in Chicago and eventually marry a pair of best friend girls (Melanie Wilson and Rebeca Arthur). Other recurring castmembers include Lise Cutter, Ernie Sabella, Jo Marie Payton, Belita Moreno, and Sam Anderson.
The ABC series ran for 150 episodes, from 1986 until 1993, and has one of the catchier theme songs of that era. According to Ian Fraser, Seattle's Cory Calhoun and Chris Bange "were at a karaoke bar with a group of friends and they were going through TV themes. Perfect Strangers wasn't on the list of songs, which was disappointing, and got them to discussing the show." That led them to decide to recreate the well-known...

Last night, on TBS' Lopez Tonight, George Lopez reunited the cast of his old sitcom. George Lopez ran for six seasons on ABC before being cancelled in 2007.
Attending last night's reunion were Constance Marie (wife Angie), Belita Moreno (mother "Benny"), Valente Rodriguez (best buddy Ernie), Masiela Lusha (daughter Carmen), Luis Armand Garcia (son Max), and Aimee Garcia (niece Veronica).

There was a small uproar when George Lopez and his sitcom left ABC in 2007. Lopez himself was very vocal about the cancellation and spoke out against the network decision. He felt that George Lopez was cancelled in part because it wasn't produced by ABC's in-house studio.
But, you can't keep a good comic down and Lopez has been having good luck hosting his own nightly talk show on TBS. The show's only been on for a few weeks and he's wasting no time in reuniting his old TV clan.
Tomorrow night, December 15th, be sure to tune in to Lopez Tonight to see the host reunite with Constance Marie (wife Angie), Belita Moreno (mother "Benny"), Valente Rodriguez (best buddy Ernie), Masiela Lusha (daughter Carmen), Luis Armand Garcia (son Max), and Aimee Garcia (niece Veronica).
