- Gloria Monte is known as an American Television producer and director working primarily in the field of television daytime drama. Gloria Montemuro was born in Allenhurst, New Jersey on August 12, 1921. Gloria attended the University of Iowa, New York University, Columbia University where she earned her Masters Degree in drama. In 1952, she married writer and director Robert O'Byrne (m.1952-1991) with whom she founded a New York theater group, ABBÉ Theatre School. With O'Byrne, Gloria Monte directed summer stock productions; led acting and speech workshops at the New School in New York City, where her pupils included the following: Marlon Brando, Demmi Moore and Tony Curtis.- IMDb Mini Biography By: hubraden@mac.com
