Delta Burke was once addicted to crystal meth as a way to lose weight.
Speaking with Chelsea Devantez on her Glamorous Trash podcast, Burke – who played Suzanne Sugarbaker on sitcom Designing Women – talked about her falling out with series creator Linda Bloodworth-Thomason and subsequent drug abuse.
“It got ugly and very sad,” said Burke. She worked with Bloodworth-Thomason on the sitcom Filthy Rich before Designing Women, and claimed she viewed her as a mentor.
“We do Designing Women, and I’m so happy to be there,” she said. “I love everything. But then things started to change, which I won’t go into. But that, combined with becoming famous, I simply couldn’t cope with.”
“I wanted to leave,” she added, “and I wasn’t allowed to leave. I don’t know what would have happened to me if I had been allowed to leave. Staying gave me an amazing character to get to play…...

“Abbott Elementary” received the same three supporting acting Emmy nominations across its first two seasons: Janelle James and Sheryl Lee Ralph for supporting actress and Tyler James Williams for supporting actor. The comedy is likely to pick up those three bids again for its third season this year, but will it score any beyond that? Also eligible are Lisa Ann Walter in supporting actress (eighth place in our combined odds), as well as Chris Perfetti (10th place) and William Stanford Davis (21st place) in supporting actor — and their categories may be open enough for them finally to break in.
Walter, Perfetti and Davis missing for Season 1 is not at all surprising. A word-of-mouth hit, “Abbott” already exceeded expectations with seven nominations in total, including for series, actress (Quinta Brunson), writing and casting. While our odds correctly forecasted the inclusions of Brunson, James and Ralph, they had Williams sitting all the...

Selena Gomez has seen her “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars and guest stars get nominated for and win Emmys the past two years while she sat on the sidelines. Will the third time finally be the charm? She’s currently in fifth place in the Best Comedy Actress odds. Given her previous snubs, you’d be justified to doubt her chances, but we’ve been through this before with a twice snubbed actress-singer who pulled through on her third try under very similar circumstances: Mandy Moore.
“This Is Us” was a breakout hit when it premiered in 2016 on NBC. In 2017, it earned 10 Emmy nominations for its freshman installment, including Best Drama Series and seven acting bids — but not for Moore in Best Drama Actress. It won two awards: Best Drama Actor for Sterling K. Brown, who prevailed over his TV dad Milo Ventimiglia, a surprise nominee, and Best Drama Guest Actor for Gerald McRaney,...

Nick Offerman has been a bit of an Emmys bridesmaid so far, as the versatile actor has been nominated three times in his career but failed to turn any of them into cold, hard wins he can put on his shelf. This year, he earned his fourth nomination — and, surprisingly, his first one as an actor. He was nominated for Best Drama Guest Actor for HBO’s hugely successful video-game adaptation “The Last of Us.”
In the show, Offerman appears as Bill in episode three — “Long, Long Time.” Perhaps the most emotional episode of the entire series, Offerman is front and center of the drama and truly gets a chance to show off his acting chops. Bill lives a solitary life on his compound when the epidemic breaks out. But his uneasy quiet is disturbed when Murray Bartlett‘s Frank stumbles upon the land. Bill is reluctant to help the...

Murray Bartlett is having a very special moment. After winning his first Emmy last year, the actor has followed up that victory with not one but two nominations this year as he looks to continue his hot streak. One of those bids this year is for Best Movie/Limited Series Supporting Actor for “Welcome to Chippendales,” while his second comes for HBO’s drama “The Last of Us,” which amassed a whopping 25 Emmy bids. Specifically, Bartlett was nominated for Best Drama Guest Actor for his emotional role as Frank in episode three of the show.
That episode, titled “Long, Long Time,” was touted as one of the very best in the entire series and was certainly the most heartbreaking. The episode flashes back to Frank leaving Baltimore as the epidemic spread. Soon after, he stumbles across a protected compound belonging to Nick Offerman‘s Bill, who, at first, is reluctant...

Gerald McRaney needs no introduction to true television fans. He has starred in several popular TV shows from the early 80s to the 2020s. If he had not walked away from working in the Louisiana oil fields, Hollywood might not have been blessed with such incredible talent. The Mississippi-born actor, who spent all of his growing years and university at the state, comes from Scottish and Choctaw ancestry. Gerald McRaney has played a wide range of roles, from religious leaders, law enforcement officers, and military officers to playing doctor. He had built a reputation for himself throughout his over five-decade...

But when they do meet up with said agent, Newsome, he agrees to have Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) be on overwatch while he goes back undercover, which is questionable if he’s actually dirty, unless it’s to be his alibi or it’s a trap. In the eyes of many NCIS: Los Angeles fans, Admiral Hollace Kilbride has been the least offensive of those allowed to keep Hetty's seat warm until she returns.

With the series in the back half of its final season, the question has to be asked: Why bother?
With all the other loose ends to be tied up, how much screen time should be devoted to Kilbride?
I would argue that Kilbride deserves some of the same character development that the other Osp team members have received, many over the past decade or more.
Otherwise, Kilbride's personal background has only been hinted at. All viewers know about him is that he's divorced and messed up his relationship with his son, and he regrets both of those developments.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 Episode 13, “A Farewell to Arms.”] If you’re looking forward to Retired Admiral Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) reuniting with his estranged son Alex, the latest NCIS: Los Angeles episode shows that you should thank his ex-wife Elizabeth (Marilu Henner). When she’s in town — after the exes spend the night together — the two reminisce about when Alex was born, and she recalls Kilbride fighting to stay awake while holding him. At the time, Elizabeth thought he’d always be there for their son. But now, “you let me down, Hollace, but more importantly, you let Alex down, too,” she tells him. She waited to bring it up until she knew he’d changed. “Alex is an adult. He made choices — choices that left no room for me and I tried to help, many times, but he just cut me out of his life,” ...

NCIS: Los Angeles offers a look at who Retired Admiral Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) is away from the job in the February 26 episode, and honestly, life isn’t much easier, with his ex-wife Elizabeth (Marilu Henner) in town visiting, wanting him to do something he hasn’t in years. We’ve heard very little about Kilbride’s family, but that’s changing as the CBS procedural nears the end. That’s about to change, with Elizabeth hoping to talk him into reconnecting with their son, Alex (Christopher Gorham guest stars this spring). How does that go? Henner raves about her guest spot and working with McRaney below. How are you? Marilu Henner: I’m good. And I’m so excited to be talking about this because I had just the best time working on this with my buddy Gerald McCraney, Mac. I love him so much. We just had the best day.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” is coming to a close. CBS announced on Friday that the currently airing 14th season of the drama would be its last, with the series finale set to air on May 14.
The series premiered in 2009 as the second installation of the “NCIS” franchise, preceded by the still-running “NCIS” and followed by “NCIS: New Orleans,” which ran from 2014 to 2021, and “NCIS: Hawaiʻi,” which premiered in 2021 and is currently airing its second season. “NCIS: Sydney” is set to premiere this year.
Set in the high-stakes world of a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals who pose a threat to the nation’s security, “NCIS: Los Angeles” follows Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), Grisha Callen and their team as they go undercover to take down their targets and protect national interests. Linda Hunt, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Medalion Rahimi, Caleb Castille and Gerald McRaney also star.

One of CBS’ longest-running scripted shows, NCIS: Los Angeles, will be coming to an end after 322 episodes. Its current 14th season will be the show’s last, with the series finale set for May 14, airing on the network and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
The NCIS spinoff, starring LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell, is tied as the fifth longest-running CBS primetime scripted series ever, only behind Gunsmoke, Lassie, CSI and Criminal Minds. Among the four, the two shows that have aired in the last 50 years, CSI and Criminal Minds, both have since been revived, which bodes well for NCIS: Los Angeles‘ future.
Additionally, NCIS: Los Angeles is a rare long-running procedural drama to have had its original leads, LL Cool J and O’Donnell, stay on for the entire run. Both have spoken publicly about their commitment to the series, which hit the 300 episode milestone last May, and their fellow cast members.

Actress Marilu Henner is joining the NCIS universe as an upcoming guest star on NCIS: Los Angeles. Henner will play Elizabeth, ex-wife of the rough-around-the-edges retired Navy Admiral Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney), TVLine reports. The episode, set to air on Sunday, February 26, will see Elizabeth visiting her ex with hopes that Kilbride will reconnect with their son, to whom he hasn’t spoken in years. The fast-moving procedural will take a beat and slow down for a few scenes to examine the relationship between the admiral and his ex, adding dimension to the gruff character. No word yet on if she will be back for future episodes, but if the fans like the pairing, it’s entirely possible Elizabeth could return. CBS ©2022 Henner is no stranger to the small screen, having previously starred in the ’80s hit Taxi, which earned her five Emmy nominations for her role as Elaine. She...

Even the longest-running series can benefit from a new spark.
That rejuvenation is what has been happening in the last couple of seasons on NCIS: Los Angeles, thanks in part to the clever Reserve Agent Shyla Dahr, played by Kavi Ramachandran Ladnier (pronounced Kuvi Rama-chun-thrun Lad-ner).
In an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic, Ladnier talked about how she's enjoying her recurring role in a call from Los Angeles.
Ladnier landed the role when she auditioned for a different role in which the character spoke the same type of technical dialogue as Shyla. She missed out on that role but was offered the part of Shyla instead.
"Which I love," she said. "I love playing Shyla."
Ladnier joined a veteran cast, many of whom had been together for more than a decade. She said they made the transition seamless for her.

Deadwood Creator David Milch Says It's A Waste Of Time To Feel 'Betrayed' By The Show's Cancellation
Here's a challenge. Read a random "TV shows canceled too soon" listicle floating around the internet. A series that will be on every single one (at least any that was written with a little bit of taste) is "Deadwood," HBO's gone-too-soon western.
The series ran a respectable three seasons (36 episodes) on HBO from 2004 to 2006, but ended inconclusively. The cast and crew also had more to tell. While everyone eventually got the chance to conclude the story with a two-hour wrap-up movie in 2019, "Deadwood: The Movie" was an epilogue, not a full new season of material.
Set in the eponymous South Dakota town during the 1870s, "Deadwood" was Shakespearean — literally, for most of the dialogue was written in iambic pentameter (and bounced from tragedy to farce just like the Bard's work did). The show was fairly faithful (but not bound) to history, with real men as the two leads: lawman Seth...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14, Episode 1 “Game of Drones.”] Are we certain NCIS: Los Angeles is not going to kill off its beloved Hetty (Linda Hunt), especially offscreen? Yes. Are we still worried about where her mission in Syria might take her? Yes. That said, the Season 14 premiere did try to make us wonder about that first question. Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) brings Callen (Chris O’Donnell) into his office for a video call with Commander Neal (Jennifer Marshall), whose squad was doing joint recon work alongside the Syrian democratic forces when they came across an abandoned school used as a shared safe house. There were signs of an ambush, as well as human remains burned beyond recognition. One body had documents IDing her as an American, Trudy Chambers. Callen freezes upon hearing that. The Trudy they know is a small woman, he says, asking if the remains reflect that. They do.

Heading into NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14, the team and fans are in the same boat when it comes to one loose end: Where is Hetty (Linda Hunt)?! The last known location of their former operations manager is Syria, but all they’ve managed to do is piece together the little information a few people have about what she’s been up to — and in the October 9 premiere, “Game of Drones,” Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) do get some troubling news. Meanwhile, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) will be adjusting to being parents of a teenager, Rosa (Natalia Del Riego). Ruah tells us how that’s going to go and more. The biggest question going into Season 14 is what’s going on with Hetty. Where do we find the team when it comes to that? Stuck waiting for information? Daniela Ruah: Scott Gemmill, our showrunner,...

Save Hetty! In the military drama’s Season 14 opener, intel has at last confirmed the location of the former boss lady (Linda Hunt): Syria. “It starts off very bad for her, but eventually [the info provides] a little bit of hope,” NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer R. Scott Gemmill says. The news fires up Special Agent G. Callen (Chris O’Donnell) to go rescue his imperiled surrogate mother, despite their unresolved issues about his childhood spy training. Admiral Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) nixes the plan, though: He needs all hands on deck after terrorists set off an explosion at a facility that manufactures Navy drones. That’s just the first big boom. Arsonists light up one episode, and those gruesome serial killers that stitch bodies together from Season 9’s “The Monster” make their return. The team also helps one of their own, Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), when son Aiden (Tye White) is...

A year after being surprisingly Awol on the Best Drama Guest Actor Emmy ballot for “This Is Us,” Ron Cephas Jones is back and one step closer to making history. The two-time champ was submitted for his guest turn this year — one final time for the NBC tearjerker — and a win would give him a record-breaking third statuette in the category.
Jones is currently in a four-way tie with Charles S. Dutton, John Lithgow and Patrick McGoohan, but he’s already carved out his own piece of Emmy history in the category: He’s the the first person to win the award twice for the same role on the same show as Dutton, Lithgow and McGoohan all garnered their two trophies for different ones. The Pearsons may be gone, but they’re certainly not forgotten. A whopping 19 “This Is Us” cast members have been submitted by NBC on the 2022 Emmys ballot, including all of the core adult family members. That number includes three lead performers: Sterling K. Brown as Randall Pearson, Milo Ventimiglia as Jack Pearson and Mandy Moore as Rebecca Pearson. In years past, Justin Hartley as Kevin Pearson has also dabbled in lead, but for this final season he’s competing in supporting. One fan-fave guest star was not submitted on the Emmy ballot and thus cannot be nominated: 2017 winner Gerald McRaney, who returned in the penultimate episode as the ghost of lemonade-loving Dr. K.

1 | Was “Grey Adult Pigtails” really the best Saturday Night Live could do for Kyle Mooney’s sendoff sketch? (For anyone doubting that’s what it was, Kate McKinnon’s character said she met Mooney’s Richard “nine years ago at a white Buddhist temple for swingers,” a low-key tip of the hat to Mooney’s nine seasons on SNL.)
